If you are new to Kaylee Ryan then you will be in for a treat. If you are a die hard Kaylee Ryan fan then you again won't be disappointed and as your drawn into the story of Owen and Layla as only Kaylee can write she is the Queen of great romance books. You will be surprised - well I was by a slight edge near the end of this book!
<blockquote><i><b>"I just need you take a leap of faith and trust the magic."</blockquote></i></b>
Layla has had a hard life as soon as she got her diploma she left her drug addict mother - now for 7 years she has worked in the Emerald Seaside Resort - what little she has she has earned it! Owen has come to the resort as a favour to a friend who wants to buy it to check out the finances of the hotel. Born and raised in Nashville with his brothers Owen has been at the resort longer than he thought but now after meeting Layla when she served him at dinner he can't leave - he sees the pain and the hardship she tries to keep hidden and wants to take those worries away. The magic his brother and dad spoke of seems to have settled within him too!
Those blue eyes keep drawing Layla in can she trust Owen when trust is so hard to come by - and when Owen offers Layla a new life is it all too good to be true.
“Let me put you back together. Piece by Piece, I won't stop until you feel whole."
Piece by Piece was such a sweet story that fell on the insta-love side of the spectrum but after a while I just went with it and enjoyed the ride. Owen was pure marshmallowy goodness and so sweet and caring, I just wanted to rub myself all over him. And Layla was such a strong heroine, a real warrior, that took the reigns of her life in her hands and forged onwards, fighting for everything she's ever had in her life. She fought so hard and for so long that when Owen entered her life and simply wanted to give her the world, she tried to fight it, not trusting anyone but herself.
But aawww, when they fell? It was sweet and heartfelt and I just want a guy like Owen telling me all the mushy stuff and then whispering dirty, dirty things in my ear.
The pacing of Owen and Layla's relationship was a bit on the fast side for me, with the insta love, since I'm not really a fun, but I trusted in Kaylee to give me what I need to balance the insta love, and she delivered. There a pinch of suspense in there as well, that I was not expecting but gave the story another dimension.
I simply can't wait for the rest of the brothers to arrive but after this book, I want Marshall to get his HEA. But, Grant is first and I'm here for it. I want more family banters and all the making fun of the latest of them to fall in love.
Layla hasn't had an easy life she's had to fight for everything she has, its not much but its made her a stronger person. She doesn't trust easily but with Owen there's this magic spark that just pulls them together. There relationship happens rather quickly and she soon finds herself embedded within the Rigging family. She's left her past behind and has a fantastic new life in front of her but can she keep it.
A fantastic story that I cannot recommend enough everyone needs to meet the Riggins family.
I've been reading a lot of dark and angsty romance lately and this was the perfect break I needed. Nothing beats a good insta love story and this one delivered!
It was fast paced, addictive and I loved it!!
