Format: Audio CD
"Motion" is a mix of standards from Lee Konitz who was born in 1927. The running time of 37 minutes allows for 5 well developed performances from the American standards songbook. This is alto saxophone playing at its best and from his Verve period (1961). "Very Cool" the earlier of the 2 albums (1957) includes his composition "Kary's Trance" plus compositions by Don Ferrara and runs for approx 42 mins. Both recorded in New York City. This pioneering alto sax player is still active today. The sound quality is excellent throughout. Total running time 79 minutes.Liner notes are by Not Now Music regular Peter Gamble. The packaging comes complete with an in action shot of Lee on the liner booklet.
