After looking through the book. My first thought (after how unhealthy the recipes are)was basically 'no wonder most children (not just picky) will eat this- its full of all the tasty but unhealthy stuff that kids love - salt, fat and sugar. What child wouldn't like this stuff?'
I find the dessert section particularly lazy, as it's full of shop bought brownies, pie crusts, devils food cake mixes and Oreo cookies. Also the author does give the occasional recipe for a pie crust or a cookie, but in another recipe she tells you to go and buy the same product in a packet mix from the supermarket. What is the point?
We did Try one or two recipes ( a sweet corn dish mixed with some honey, butter and salt and A pasta and beef dish cooked in the oven) and my 3 year old (2 at the time) wouldn't touch them. She is not a picky eater by the way.
Good things about this book are that there are recipes for basic staples such as ranch dressing and BBQ sauce and there is the occasional healthy recipe such as Asian turkey lettuce wraps, quinoa salad and chicken and quinoa stew.
Im sorry I bought this book and plan to donate it to charity,or maybe put it in the recycle bin.
