Like the reviewer on Amazon U.S. has said, this volume is a little out of sorts with the usual Piccadilly Sunshine theme which tends towards the softer end of the sixties flower power spectrum.Usually we get pop beat, sometimes with a bit of a toytown slant but this one is chock full of crunching mod stompers.
Personally I rate this pretty highly, almost up there with the Rubble albums.
Don't let me put you off the other volumes as they're all well worth getting if you're a 60's pop fiend but, if like me,you dig a bit of the old Freakbeat then GET THIS NOW !
I own all the Pic Sunshine comps and will continue buying them for as long as they make 'em but I like this one the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT VOLUME IN THIS SERIES 19 Sept. 2012
By Edward J. mccarthy Jr. - Published on Amazon.com

as the previous reviewer noted they felt there was more psych/fuzz on this disc and for my ears that is what makes this volume so great, another slab of very obscure british freakbeat from 1967 to 1970, i really love this one, the remastering is great and the booklet on these priceless impossible to find 45s is very informative, im looking foward to volume 8 and 9, anyway as i stated in my review of volume 6 this is another compilation by nick solomon, most releases have been released the past 7 or 8 years on the pyschic circle label or the past and present label, this label must be the new label he is operating under, im really glad someone takes the time to put these long lost gems together as a 20 track disc ( 25 would be better) and also gives you so much information on the artists, even on google you could not find out about most of these great long 40 some odd years gone outfits, if you like 60s freakbeat and fuzz, YOU WILL LOVE THIS.......................

4.0 out of 5 stars British Freakbeat 9 Feb. 2012
By JC Traveler - Published on Amazon.com

I don't know what the compilers were thinking when they put vol 7 together but they lost focus on what the theme of this series is all about. The selection of songs here are good but it leans more on Beat and Freakbeat Soul Stompers than Baroque Flower Pop Psych but it does have some, nevertheless it's still a good compilation for late 60s UK Pop collectors. The songs here are all taken from singles on such labels as Fontana, Decca, CBS, Piccadilly, Columbia and Pye. It also Comes with 14 page cover booklet on the artists featured and here is lists of artists in order as on the CD : Loose Ends / Peter Fenton / Paul Young / Bobcats / Chris Kerry / Situation / Magic Lanterns / Mud / Peeps / Pinkerton's Assort' Colours / The Act / The Koobas / Deuce Of Hearts / Harbour Lites / Monopoly / Dead Sea Fruit / Barry Fantoni / Rising Sons / Barley Bree / Paul Young.
