Product description

From the Author

`Physical Education - The Essential Toolkit for Primary
School Teachers' is an easy to use, practical guide for primary practioners
who are required to teach Physical Education as part of the National
Curriculum. The book offers essential advice and guidance and is an
invaluable resource that can be `dipped into' when looking for an effective
practical way to teach an activity in any of the six areas of the National
Curriculum for Physical Education.

The book is essentially in two parts. Part one addresses key areas to
consider when teaching Physical Education but embeds them within a user
friendly and practical structure of points to consider - before the
lesson, at the start of the lesson, during the main part of the lesson, at
the end of the lesson and after the lesson.

The second part specifically addresses the teaching of the National
Curriculum for Physical Education and provides well tried and trusted
illustrated lesson ideas for each of the main areas of Games. Dance,
Gymnastics, Athletics and Outdoor and Adventurous Activities and Swimming,

5 Key Points

* An easy to use, practical guide that contains many well tried and tested

* The two part structure enables the reader to quickly locate key advice or
to find a useful activity idea

* All six activity areas of the National Curriculum are covered

* Progressive activity ideas are provided to meet the needs of pupils
across the primary age range

* All activity ideas are linked to the QCA Schemes of Work for PE upon
which primary schools base their planning
