'...an inspiring manual to get you started.' --Durrants - 2010

About the Author

Arnold Wilson, a professional biologist, has spent his working life in teaching and lecturing. Photography has been his lifelong interest and he has contributed to most of the current photographic magazines and has written five books. His work has been exhibited both in the UK and abroad. He was an early overall winner of the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition and in September 2000, Arnold was judged overall winner of the BBC Countryfile Photographer of the Year competition with a close-up photograph of a bumblebee in free flight. Having taken early retirement, Arnold Wilson now spends some of his leisure time photographing people and places, but his overriding interest is still nature photography.

This was one of the best books I've read on the subject. Not only was it very informative but it was written in a way that made it a pleasure to read. The images in the book were truly amazing and I found them inspirational.

This book has good photographs of patterns in Nature, as I expected. It is an added bonus that it does not just contain information on photographic techniques, but also draws the reader's attention to the need to understand how to use light, and consider composition. The author is a biologist, so his added knowledge is yet another positive addition to this book. As a result I would recommend this book to both photographers and artists.

Excellent book. Subjects are carefully and creatively chosen. Fantastic lay out, helpful and it pushes the reader to go out there and have a better look at almost everything. I call it up close and personal:). Non photography readers will be impressed just on the images alone. I have it lay out on my coffee table and guest have many time picked it up and raved about how beautiful the book and images are. Soooo good it is I got carried away and took this long to write the review. Congratulation Mr Wilson.
