Quite honestly, after being fond of the original version (Stable Masters 1) on Amiga, I had high hopes for this edition, a little too high, me thinks.
The very complicated and messy interface with pages and pages of various actions to make modifications in and lack of useful information on each page with the added nuisance of being bombarded by useless information, and the lack of a decent manual (in printed or other form), doesn't help either.
In addition to this, the training section, has a bug in it, so the added inconvenience of having to download and install a patch is in store for you, and as for the afore mentioned training section, it's all very slow acting, so any training instituted makes very little difference in the horse's actual strengths and weaknesses.
Overall then, a pretty poor attempt at a sequel.
The only redeeming factor is that if you have absolutely nothing else to do...like watch a Simpsons re-run or take a shower, it'll eat up a few hours of a Sunday afternoon, but you'll soon find yourself getting extremely bored and somewhat irritated.

Well with the choice of horse racing games being so weak this game still rates ok with me. Cant see any improvement in this second one, maybe just a new cover? lacks detail in the game. We all want a good horse training game and this is the one that needs developing.
next one should develop some real horse names, increasing your stable in this at the mo takes a click of the mouse now thats poor change it!! breeding well there isnt any, amount of races is fine tho just please add detail to the management of the stable and horses. And tracks have turns by the way!!! just one straight race in this game, must be some very long airport style race tracks in the game. PLease develop it!!!!

Good, but challenging

It is really quite addictive once you get the hang of it!
I bought it a while back and have only recently gotten into it. It is hard, but once you understand it, it is really quite easy.

Hints:
-Sell all your horses that you are supplied with.
-There is a race on the 24th of march which is a major money winner. You have to buy a horse that can do 1mile 1furlong, 1mile 2furlongs, 1mile 3furlongs or 1mile4furlongs
-Once you have done that enter it in the race and if it comes 1st, 2nd or 3rd, sell your horse and you will get alot of money for it.
-You can take it from there!
