Product Description

Product Description

From the makers of the recommended power toothbrush brand by dental professionals, Philips Sonicare introduces the FlexCare rechargeable sonic toothbrush. FlexCare removes more plaque than a manual toothbrush and even more than Sonicare Elite.

FlexCare - three brushing modes and two personalised cleaning routines

The Philips Sonicare FlexCare toothbrush's 31,000 brush strokes per minute guarantee effective and efficient oral care. Built for your individual oral care needs, FlexCare offers three different cleaning modes and two routines to enhance your brushing experience.

3 Flexible brushing modes

Three flexible brushing modes

(i) Clean--for maximum cleaning efficacy

(ii) Sensitive--for those with sensitive teeth and gums

(iii) Massage--to stimulate gums with an invigorating and pulsing motion

Two personalised cleaning routines

(i) Go Care--if you want a quick clean, then this routine is specifically designed to cater to your needs. The one-minute Go Care brushing cycle in clean mode ensures you get an optimum clean in just one minute.

(ii) Max Care--if you want to offer that extra care to your teeth, then the three-minute Max Care cycle provides an extended care routine.

Quardpacer - Rechargeable Brush

Quadpacer

This 30-second interval timer encourages thorough brushing of each quadrant of your mouth. The Quadpacer feature beeps at 30-second intervals during the two-minute brushing period, telling you when to move the toothbrush to the next section, thus making sure that you brush all sections of your mouth evenly and thoroughly. It takes the guesswork out of when to move the brush from the outside of the teeth to the inside, and from the upper teeth to the lower teeth.

Smart body

ProResults brush head: two contoured brush heads

The Philips Sonicare HX6902/02 FlexCare toothbrush is clinically proven to remove significantly more plaque than Sonicare Elite and manual toothbrushes. It is specially designed for a better fit with your mouth. The brush's contour-fit head, wider bristle range and broader sweeping motion provide better tooth coverage. It ensures you can reach the contours of your mouth and clean the areas that others can't. It provides better plaque removal and a comfort-enhanced brushing experience.

The standard size is ideal for complete cleaning, while the compact size provides precision cleaning.

Remember to replace your brush head at least every three months for optimal results.

Smart Timer

Smartimer

This two-minute timer helps ensure you brush for the full two minutes recommended by dental professionals. The Smartimer automatically stops your Sonicare toothbrush after two minutes have elapsed. If you switch the toothbrush off at any time during the brushing cycle, for instance to rinse or apply more toothpaste, the Smartimer interrupts its timing and resumes where it left off when you switch the appliance back on again.

Although a two-minute brushing session is recommended for optimal results, you can always stop or restart the toothbrush at any time by pressing the power button. When the handle is placed in the charger, the Smartimer automatically resets to ensure a complete two-minute brushing cycle the next time you use it. The Smartimer also resets itself if you stop your Sonicare toothbrush for more than 45 seconds.

Charger

Multi-voltage compact travel charger

A compact multi-voltage charger lets you enjoy FlexCare while you're on the go.

Worldwide plug

This toothbrush comes with a worldwide two-pin plug for use in standard two-pin bathroom sockets. It can also be used in three-pin wall sockets via a converter. Converter not included.

Had an older sonicare toothbrush (about 3 yas old), which at the time i thought was superb....... then i bought this. Its unbelievable. I wondered whether it would be worth the money, and it is. After every time i use it im amazed at how clean my teeth feel. My whole mouth just feels great.
If you've never bought & sonic toothbrush & especially a sonicare one from phillips i strongly reccomend you to get this as its superb !

The Philips Sonicares are great toothbrushes. If you haven't used one before then you'll be amazed at how clean and polished your teeth feel and how much more healthy your gums are. You do need to get used to using them though, so that you don't accidentally change the setting while you are brushing. You also need to get used to using very light pressure to get the best advantage of the sonic technology and also avoid wearing out the replaceable heads too quickly. The biggest drawback though is reliability. I had one of the original and now unfortunately obsolete Sonicare toothbrushes with the moving parts in the replaceable head and that lasted for years without a problem. The new range has the major moving parts in the handle and there seems to be the flaw. In the two year warranty period the first brush failed after a few weeks, the replacement failed after a year or so and the second replacement failed a few weeks before the warranty expired. On the second replacement Philips made comments to the effect that they don't usually replace more than once on warranty but would do so in my case as a special concession. Quite unreasonable I thought - a warranty is a warranty and you'd expect the thing to last at least two years for the price. These failures weren't the on/off button problem that has been reported, the handle just stopped working altogether. Except for an automated acknowledgement, I haven't heard back from Philips about the third claim and I doubt that I will now but life's too short to keep chasing toothbrush warranty claims. The brush is so good that I've bought another and will follow the warranty up as necessary.Read more ›

Like others who have reviewed the HX6902, I have no complaints regarding the effectiveness of the brush. It does a great job cleaning teeth and gums, and the entire product is beautifully designed. However.... as several (including myself) have discovered, the Sonicare brush is more than likely to pack up within a couple of years (or less in some instances) meaning you need to fork out for another expensive replacement. In my case it looks like the battery has failed meaning it no longer charges. I also noticed like others that the strength of the motor does deteriorate over time. Ultimately the pitiful product life effectively works out as the equivalent of spending >£50 a year on toothbrushes - or the equivalent of buying a new "manual" toothbrush one a week. Some (myself included) might regard as excessive. I do find it staggering that a global consumer electronics giant such as Philips have not bothered to sort out these issue, even after several years of production. It isn't exactly like solving nuclear fusion. But then again, the cynic in me suspects this is actually "planned" obsolescence - and Philips is quite happy for it to fail soon after it is out of warranty. Regardless- hard to recommend anyone buy this product, as effective as it maybe. Very disappointing.

I was given one of these for Christmas. The toothbrush itself is great once you get used to it. Teeth feel really clean. HOWEVER, beware two points: 1) Philips make many different models all with confusing numbers and many different brush heads which are not all compatible with the different numbers. The number of the model is not written on the toothbrush, so once you have thrown away the box and you set off to buy new heads, you will be bamboozled by the choice and difficulty of choosing the correct one. They are also hard to find in most shops and may have to be specially ordered. 2) The replacement heads are REALLY EXPENSIVE.

To anyone thinking of buying one of these, unless you have been recommended it by a dentist, I would consider buying Braun/Oral B who seem to have a much more co-ordinated and affordable approach.

As discussed in previous reviews, I am sure Philips are producing these machines knowing that their reliability is appalling.
Over the years i have had 6 sets of single sonic brushes and two sets of the double packs.
The best result was from some of the earlier ones they lasted 18months.. all the rest have failed within a short time (between 5-8 months)
    PHILIPS!!...THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!
I will not buy anymore of your sonicare range tooth brushes again until i see positive reviews on a regular basis,
instead i will use my Braun electric toothbrush (its over ten years old..) that has out lived everyone of your sonicare machines
    SORT IT OUT!! Philips.

    NOT IMPRESSED!!

I've bought a few of these. One as a gift. Unfortunately, they don't last very long. Philips will replace under warranty and even give you a new head when they do. However, the replacement units don't last any longer. Mine lasted 14 months which isn't great considering I was the only person using it. I will probably buy another one but it makes me angry that these things are ending up in the land fill so quickly.
