Taking good care of your teeth and mouth is essential, because your oral health can directly affect your overall health. While it doesn''t mean you should say goodbye to the dentist's chair, using a good quality toothbrush such as Sonicare is a must. The patented sonic technology delivers a gentle yet dynamic cleaning action that drives fluid deep between teeth and along the gum-line to help prevent the development of gum disease and improve gum health in just two weeks.
The Philips Sonicare brand is a leader in oral health care and is backed by more than 140 publications and abstracts representing clinical and laboratory studies conducted at more than 40 universities and research institutes worldwide. Dynamic Sonic Cleaning Action
DiamondClean is clinically proven to remove up to 100 per cent more plaque biofilm in hard-to-reach areas and to whiten teeth up to two times more within one week than a manual toothbrush. Sonicare''s dynamic cleaning action drives fluid between the teeth, effectively cleaning every surface and along the gum line for a difference you can see and feel.
Naturally Whiter Teeth
Daily use of the White mode can help you achieve teeth that are noticeably whiter in just one week. Proven to remove coffee, tea, tobacco and red wine stains. The high-density, diamond-shaped bristles and range of five cleaning modes offer a clinical-level clean that dentists, with absolute confidence, recommend to their patients.
Most adults suffer from gum disease at some point in their lives. Thankfully, DiamondClean is clinically proven to improve gum health in just two weeks. Its Gum Care mode targets the gum line by removing plaque while stimulating the gums.
Clinically Proven Safe and Gentle
Your Sonicare is safe to use on: braces (brush heads wear out sooner when used on braces), dental restorations (fillings, crowns, veneers) and periodontal pockets. It also has a Sensitive Mode, for gentle, yet thorough cleaning for sensitive gums.
Designed with a matte black ceramic finish Sonicare DiamondClean is designed with style in mind. The technology in the handle is hidden so the brushing modes are only illuminated when in action, when off, display becomes invisible for a clean look.
Highly Charged - Dual Charging System
Philips Sonicare DiamondClean possesses a three week charge. When you need to recharge, DiamondClean comes equipped with a charging glass and a smart USB charged travel case that can be plugged into your laptop or any compatible power source. The glass not only charges your toothbrush as it rest in it, it also can be used for rinsing your mouth.
Diamond-shaped bristles provide a greater surface area for an exceptional cleaning and whiter teeth in just one week. The diamond bristle heads have 44 per cent more bristles than Philips Sonicare's standard sized ProResults, providing you with both plaque removal and whiter teeth.
Two Minute Timer
Two minute timer automatically tracks brushing time, ensuring recommended brushing regime is followed and turns the toothbrush off when brushing is complete.
30 seconds interval timer indicates when you have completed each quadrant of your mouth and signals for you to move on, resulting in more consistent cleaning throughout your mouth
- In order to get the most out of your Sonicare''s battery life, it is essential that you charge it for 24 hours before first use.
- Due to the way the glass charger works, it cannot be placed on a metal surface.
- Once correctly charged your Sonicare will have three weeks of use on a single full charge or 42 two-minute brushings

It has a couple of downsides still... The glass is really a novelty for charging, but it looks untidy with the brush leaning over. I have come from an upright charger background and I just can't get used to this.... Maybe it's just me with OCD, but I've had to stand it up straight up and prop it against a wall.
Secondly it only has one button ! ... the Sonicare model below has two where you select the program first and then "go" ... but this you have to step through the programs whilst it's in your mouth.... Literally ! ... If you didn't then you'd spray toothpaste around the bathroom. ... So you'd better learn how many presses you need if you want anything other than the standard 2 minutes.... Shocking design flaw !!
Well, I put my money where my mouth was because here I am having paid for another - albeit cheaper version - myself. Bottom line is that I dropped my other one and something must have broken inside because in certain angles it stopped vibrating which made cleaning my teeth a bit of a drag. So I searched and found this one which isn't the latest gen but is pretty close and is about half the price. Still expensive but bearable. After all one only has one set of ivories to look after.
In use it is the same as the top of the range one. No difference in power or feel. The only differences that I can see are that there is a slightly different design to this and the brushing schedule is marginally different.
And by that I mean that on the very latest version there are six intervals where the brush slightly pauses to let you know to move on to the next section of your pearly whites. Basically left upper, middle upper, left upper, lower right, lower middle and lower left. On this one you have four pauses - upper front, upper inside, lower front and lower inside. The actual brushing time is the same at 2 minutes.
In use you are left with teeth that are cleaner feeling than anything other than a dental hygienist can achieve - and to be honest even there you get pretty close. Last time I went to Dick Turpin the Dentist he remarked at how clean my teeth were so I figure it really does make a difference.
With this you get the really cool charging station which is a glass sat on an induction charger. This means you can simply wash the glass as per any other glass and you have a perfectly clean toothbrush station again. The brush also comes with a portable unit for travel which is jolly useful.
Overall the Philips Sonicare system is miles ahead of anyone else when it comes to toothbrushes and you really notice the differences when you use them. Well worth the money because despite the cost, a dentist is way more painful on the wallet.
On the first day I plugged it in to charge and thought it looked good but didn't think much more of it. On the next evening I could finally use the toothbrush, and I thought it looked quite smart with it's different options and I brushed my teeth (like normal). However when I had finished and I headed to my bedroom I brushed my teeth with my tongue and couldn't believe how smooth they felt! They had felt like I had been to the dentist!
One week on I couldn't believe that 24 hours a day (even after eating and drinking) How smooth my teeth felt, I've been using this for a few months now and really cannot believe how great it is!
