Philips Sonicare AirFloss HX8211/02 Rechargeable Power Flosser
Why Choose An AirFloss?
Taking good care of your teeth and mouth is essential, because your oral health can directly affect your overall health. While it doesn't mean you should say goodbye to the dentist's chair forever, an effective daily routine, will help. Using a Philips Sonicare AirFloss supports the use of effective brushing by blasting away bits of trapped food and plaque that can build up between the teeth. It's often these hard to reach food traps that can cause bad breath, gum disease and even decay. Making AirFloss part of your daily dental care routine will help keep your mouth fresh and your teeth healthy.
Studies have shown that when used with a manual toothbrush, Sonicare AirFloss removes up to 99 per cent more plaque between teeth than brushing alone.
Most adults suffer from gum disease at some point in their lives. AirFloss is clinically proven to improve gum health in just two weeks. Its cleaning action removes hard to reach particles of food and plaque trapped between the teeth, preventing gum disease, and gently stimulates the gums.
Pleasant to Use
Not only is AirFloss good for your oral health, it's also easy to use. After one month, 96 per cent of inconsistent flossers continued to use Sonicare AirFloss four or more days per week.
The AirFloss uses Philips' Microburst technology that applies a quick burst of pressurised air and micro-water droplets to clean deep between teeth where a toothbrush can't reach.
The AirFloss nozzle has a guidance tip to ensure targeted cleaning between teeth. Once you line up the nozzle, simply press the button and quick, targeted bursts of water will be released automatically as you move the tip along your gum line, allowing the tip to settle between each tooth momentarily, cleaning between each tooth in turn. It's so simple, the AirFloss cleans between all teeth in less than 30 seconds.
Guidance Tip For Easy Placement
Simply glide the guidance tip along the gum-line until you feel it settle between the teeth. Provides easy positioning even on those hard-to-reach back teeth.
Clinically Proven Safe and Gentle
Sonicare AirFloss is gentle on teeth and gums and is safe to use with dental restorative materials. In fact, 78 per cent of people tested by Philips reported that Sonicare AirFloss was gentler on teeth and gums than regular manual dental floss.
Angled Nozzle Head
Slim, angled nozzle makes it easy to clean even the hard-to-reach areas.
Easy to Fill Reservoir
Easy-to-fill reservoir uses only a tiny amount of water for less mess. Fill with mouthwash for enhanced oral health benefits. Just check that your mouthwash does not contain Isopropyl Myristate, as this could damage the device.
Fits Standard Sonicare Chargers
Sonicare AirFloss and Sonicare toothbrushes use the same charger*, so you only need one charger to charge your Sonicare products.
*excludes DiamondClean charger
Long Battery Life
2 weeks of use on a single full charge.
In order to get the most out of your AirFloss’ battery life, it is essential that you charge it for 24 hours before first use.

I would have hoped being Philips, that this item would've lasted at least 5years for the price but sadly, it was not to be. I am now seeking a replacement flosser but it definitely won't be Philips this time. They should really look into improving the quality of this product.

I get any of below:
Press button > Build pressure > Burst
Press button > Burst > Build pressure
Press button > Burst > Build pressure > Burst

So as you can see it's quite unexpected and can produce discomfort in the mouth.
When it's fully charged it also hurts a particular point in my gums where I get so much blood as if Airfloss punched me in the face.
Otherwise, when it works, it does the job.
I have been using it for a month now, twice a day, it is simple to use, no hassle like flossing. I have flossed after using and nothing comes out with flossing so it is doing it's job. I am booked in for teeth whitening next week but I may cancel as my teeth are so much brighter just by using this. When I first started using it, it felt like it might be too strong, but my gums have got used to it now.
I have now bought one each for both my husband and my daughter as they are both so impressed with it. I have also discovered the trick of keeping your tongue on the roof of your mouth to stop it being zapped.
I am going to buy one each for my husband and daughter when their birthdays come round.
It has quickly come round to part of my routine. If I don't use it for some reason, I can feel the difference.
I like that it can stay on the charger and it uses the same charger as the Phillips Sonicare toothbrush. (My hygenist also recomended the Braun Toothbrush but I have found that very agressive so I am using that only for one in four brushes, I only mention it because although the Braun has a different base, I discovered it will also charge on the Phillips one, but not vice versa)
The only thing they could improve is the filling cap. Too many times, I have had the flosser in one hand, unscrewed and filled the cap of the mouthwash and found I needed a third hand to fill it. I just need to remember every time to fill the cap first.
Unfortunately, it has a life span of about 8 months - I'm on my 4th one now in just over 2 years, using it for about 90 seconds morning and evening every day. It simply stops working. Forget trying to send it back for repair or replacement - you'll likely be dead and in your grave before that happens. The heads break roughly twice a year at the pressure point where they join the body, so you need to lay in a small stock of spares.
Therefore you have to assume that each one of these devices is going to cost you about £1.50 a week to buy and run. Just about worth it for the sure knowledge that food is not decomposing between my teeth, with attendant bad breath, but not quite what I signed up for from a cost perspective.
