This is a great monitor. My user case is i use two laptops, one for work, mainly productivity, and the second for home, include a little gaming!.
Start with the pros:
1/Two excellent usb c upstream port utilising dp1.4, this monitor is the only monitor I have have ever seen with 100w power delivery over usb on BOTH port, allowing you to charge a laptop on either port, and with a maximum draw when charging both of the laptops of 115w. This is a game changer for me!
2/ kvm is great, and necessary with a screen like this, as an external kvm aren’t great at dealing with amount of pixels. Although using via the OSD is annoying, more on this later.
3/the hub is great, I love plugging a single usbc in to the laptop, and everything else coming off the monitor.
4/ got to have a built in webcam, although not particularly high quality, good enough for Teams/zoom.
5 / curvature is perfect, so immersive.
6/ screen quality is great, not the highest frequency, but with the active sync at 75hz, it’s good enough for all my gaming needs. And flawless for productivity.
Cons
1/ the only annoying aspect on the monitor is the OSD, very difficult to control all the kvm, PIP, PNP and switching inputs functions, HOWEVER, I’ve discovered a way to turn the monitor from having one of the worst to one of the best OSD… i noticed what looked like a IR receiver in the middle of the screen, on testing turns out it was actually a sensor track movement, but I did discover a IR receiver by the power light. So got me thinking why would there be an ir receiver on a monitor that doesn’t have a remote control? A little more investigation, Philips monitors are actually made by TPV a Korean company, TPV also make AOC monitors, and AOC monitors do have remote controls to navigate the OSD. So is purchased a second hand remote control for a AG493, and it works flawlessly, controlling ever function perfectly.
