Product Description

Philips Hair Care

Spring | Summer 2010 is an exciting time to be styling hair. Sometimes hair isn't a big story on the catwalks, but this season it's the main attraction. We think it's because, in these economically challenging times, getting creative with your hair is a relatively inexpensive way of dramatically altering your look. From futuristic geometry to grown-up beach babe hair, texture, ghetto fabulous crimping and updos of all shapes and sizes, there is a great opportunity to have fun and experiment with hair this season. And as you'll see from our key looks, the possibilities are endless. Mix and match your hair to your mood as much as your outfit and most of all, style your hair with your imagination. (Andy Uffels - Philips Haircare Artistic Director)

A style for all occasions with the Philips 13 in 1 Multistyler

There are so many trends to choose from, why commit to just one hairstyle? Comprising of 13 separate attachments, the Philips Multistyler has all the tools you need to create a different look for every occasion. Choose from five styles: big defined curls, natural tousled curls, straight and sleek, modern crimped styles or ringlets.

From ghetto fabulous crimping at Jean Paul Gaultier and Marc Jacobs, to intricate twists at Matthew Williamson, the message is have fun and experiment with your hair. This season’s up do’s are all about contrasting textures. The type of texture you choose to create will determine the feel of the style – soft curls make the look feel romantic, while crimping is more daring.

Get the Look:

Simply click the styling attachment of your choice – small curl, medium curl, conical curl, crimper or straightener - into place and get creative.

Small Curl:
If you’re looking to create a really playful, feminine effect, then this is the tool for you. It works best if your hair is shoulder length or shorter with a few layers. Be sure to brush the curls out thoroughly for a modern, happy go lucky look.

Medium Curl:
To create that vintage glamour look, use the medium size curling iron to create ‘set’ look barrel curls. The great thing about this style is that you don’t have to curl all the hair. Two ponytails tied in tight knots at the back - one for the lower back section of the hair and one for the sides – will give the look added support.

Conical Curl:
If you want a natural looking wave then this is the tool for you. The barrel goes from thick to thin so it mimics the movement of a natural curl.

Crimper:
In the last few seasons we’ve seen crimping make a comeback on the catwalks, perfectly in-line with 80’s and futuristic fashion trends. To make crimped hair more wearable, comb the hair through thoroughly and pin it up for a softer look that’s more ‘now’. Crimping is also an easy way of building up volume and is the perfect base for updos.

Straightener:
For a really professional looking up-do, it’s a necessity to straighten your hair first. Straightening adds extra shine and creates a polished finish. We created a chic yet playful effect by smoothing the top and sides but leaving the poker straight ends free. This juxtaposition of textures was one of the buzz words backstage for all us hairstylists at the shows. The key to two-tone perfect is to keep it asymmetrical. This avoids the style looking too contrived.
