After deliberations we decided to go with Philips once again ~ result, satisfaction. Iron works a treat, light & very smooth to operate. No problems, left review until we'd had it for over a month, used every day, love it.

Just bought another one at my Mum in Laws request after she'd used mine and really liked it. I will never go back to steam, I spray my ironing first with an ordinary re-used spray bottle, the iron is light, there's less steam and none of the noise, I reckon it does the job more quickly too and I don't get so hot and bothered.

Purchased this for my 80 year old Aunt who doesnt like steam irons and found it hard to buy a dry iron in the shops. She thinks it's great, nice & light, and it perfect for their needs. Liked it so much she requested a second one, just in case it breaks!

What a groovy iron! Lightweight, uncomplicated, purple to boot. And with a flex somewhat longer than normal. If I wasn't married to my vacuum cleaner, I'd marry this. Or maybe, thinking about it.......I could make this iron my mistress.

You know, sometimes when I look at the reviews I write, I wonder if my vacuum cleaner isn't slipping something into my morning tea. I will have to tread carefully - but not over my ironing!

This is a lovely 'dry iron'. I had been struggling with a huge steam iron after my old dry iron broke. Then I found this and am so pleased with it. It heats up quickly and is compact and nifty around the shirt collars and cuffs etc! Comfortable in the hand, with a nice length cord. No white calcium deposits either - I just use a spray water bottle, so once I've finished ironing I don't have to empty it out. The only reason I haven't given it 5*s is because I would have liked it to be a little heavier. I could almost say I'm loving the ironing!!

I wanted a lightweight iron as I found I could not lift the steam iron we bought when our dry iron broke(especially when it had water in, even if only a very small amount). I have rheumatoid arthritis and find it very difficult to lift things. this iron is ideal. I would recommend it to anyone in my position

I purchased this iron after reading the previous reviews. I FERVENTLY HOPED I WOULD NOT NEED TO RETURN IT. I have test driven many `modern` irons ranging from the cheap 5.00 irons from Tesco and Argos to the most expensive irons at 85.00. I have tried ones that change colour when they get to their temperature and some so big it was like driving a truck!!. But I didnt buy any of them BECAUSE THEY JUST DONT GET HOT ENOUGH TO TAKE THE CREASES OUT OF WET LINEN STRAIGHT FROM THE WASHING MACHINE.

BUT THIS PHILLIPS IRON IS A DREAM.... IT`S LIKE IRONS U S E D TO BE BEFORE HEATH AND SAFETY AUTO SHUT OF. I dont need a steam iron because I like to iron my cottons straight from the washing machine. I like to do it fast with a hot iron that keeps up with me. THIS WOW PHILLIPS STEAM IRON DOES IT ALL. IT WHIPS THROUGH THE SHEETS FAST - TAKING OUT THOSE CREASES AND IRONING MY SHEETS DRY. IT IS LIGHT AND EASY TO HANDLE - Thank goodness Phillips still make an iron that can do the job. I`m going to get a 2nd one to keep as a spare BEFORE the nanny state decide irons this hot (that actually do the job) cant be sold anymore.
NO WONDER EVERYONE YOU SEE OUT AND ABOUT LOOKS CRUMPLED. - THEY OBVIOUSLY HAVENT DISCOVERED THIS PHILLIPS IRON. AND AM MAKING DO WITH THE USELESS IRONS THAT MAKE UP 98% OF THE ONES ON SALE THESE DAYS.

THIS IRON - DOES EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS ON THE BOX SIMPLE - FAST - EFFECTIVE

Very well made product. Much preferred to a steam iron. Thought at first it would be far too light, but after one ironing session that was certainly NOT the case. A dream to use and would not change back to a steam iron. If you really do need steam then spray the item being ironed lightly with water from a mist/sprayer bottle.I thoroughly recommend this product to all.
