On your desk or anywhere else, this docking speaker delivers crystal-clear sound that fills your personal space and ensures wireless Bluetooth streaming and also synchronises your iPod/iPhone/iPad with your PC.
DBB to Preserve Low Tones for Deep Bass at Any Volume Level
Dynamic Bass Boost maximises your music enjoyment by emphasising the bass content of the music throughout the range of volume settings--from low to high--at the touch of a button. Bottom-end bass frequencies usually get lost when the volume is set at a low level. To counteract this, Dynamic Bass Boost can be switched on to boost bass levels, so you can enjoy consistent sound even when you turn down the volume.
Precisely Tuned Bass Pipes for Deep, Tight Bass Reproduction
The generous 3L acoustic volume allocated to each woofer is perfectly aligned with precisely tuned back firing bass pipes to deliver truly impressive and tight bass performance from such a compact speaker. The result--exceptional realism and an immersive listening experience.

Dock it, play it, sync it and charge it. Dig in to your favourite music on your iPod, iPhone or iPad while it charges and synchronises with your PC via USB and enjoy superb sound quality together with thoroughly unbeatable convenience. The main things that stop me giving it 5 stars are the following:
- the Bluetooth streaming is easy to set up but a bit stop start because the first tracks often just misses the first couple of seconds ... Strange. I don't know why that is, and can only think that the Bluetooth capability of the speakers aren't as good as the DS3500 model this had replaced.
- there are no USB and headphone cables which the Amazon listing claims they have. Ad it' not that they're missing, the instruction booklet clearly only lists the speakers, AC adapter plug and remote ad the contents of the set. I will report the misleading listing to them.
The contents also include the power adaptor to power this unit up(it doesn't have any slots to insert batteries into to make it portable), and probably one of the most stylish looking remote controls you will ever see, the remote can be used when using the dock or Bluetooth feature.
I managed to get hold of a family members iPhone to which I tested the dock, it inserted very nicely with no hassle. Upon docking I received a notification to download a special app for this speaker, however do note that it's not mandatory to download it as it works fine without.
As you would expect from most docks these days, it does indeed charge your iPhone when docked.
When it came to trying the Bluetooth feature, I was a bit anxious to whether it would work on Android phones, this is probably down to a Bluetooth device I had used in the past which would only connect to iPhone Bluetooth and the fact on the page description & product box, it mentions nothing of compatibility with Android/smartphones with Bluetooth capabilities.
Well I can assure you it does work! I used my Sony Neo V to send audio to the speaker.
Another way you can connect your audio devices to this speaker is by using an auxiliary cable and plug it into the "MP3-LINK" slot located at the back.
When it came to the sound quality, apart from it lacking in bass, which is bad for heavier rock & dub-step audiophiles, it does deliver fantastic quality when it came to music such as pop, electronica & classical etc... For the price it's currently at, I can't fault the quality.Read more ›
The reason is just simple - it is simply not compatible with the software/network of new iPods/iPhones. So if you are looking for a stereo for your iPhone 5 - don't waste your money on this product. Hope this review finds relevant people and you change your mind before making the purchase.
Using it in the kitchen which is pretty big (7m x 3m with high ceilings) and it is easily powerful enough to fill the room nicely even with the washing machine and extractor on. You would need more grunt for a party, but for general familiy listening this is great. The bluetooth feature is much better than I was expecting it to be - it's actually really good! I have two devices paired and it will always perfer to connect to the last one used if it is in range which isn't always what I want but hey ho.
Internet radio is very good too - I can listen to almost every Slovak radio station I could ever dream of.
Really, really pleased with this purchase.
Samsung Galaxy S3 (android)
Dragged down from Top, pressed bluetooth, scanned, found speakers as 'philips ds3600', went to music, pressed play. That simple.
Cowon J3 (their own software)
In menu/settings/bluetooth selected scan (initially after first time did it automatically), had it scan (won't find it if the speakers are paired with something else), found speakers as 'headphones' initially then after it does say Philips 3600, selected this, connected straight away. Played music no problem.
What really surprised me with both was that the remote works. Not just volume up and down but also track forward and back and pause etc with non apple products.
There's no bluetooth on/off on the remote, you have to go to the machine to do that which seems a little silly the point of bluetooth is to do things a little remotely. Whereas as the aux has an on/off on the remote but because the Mp3 player will be connected via the jack and therefore close to the speakers and making it so that you have to go to the speakers to turn the mp3 player on/off select album etc. Surely it would make more sense to have the bluetooth on/off on the remote or even go crazy and have both.
The silver pill shape in the middle is tacky cheap looking silver plastic. It wouldn't fool anyone.
Apparently it will go onto standby after 15mins. There is no power off button on the unit or remote.Read more ›
