If you've bought my book ... I salute you ... and "may the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of your enemies" (old arabic saying).
If you haven't yet bought it, and are thinking about it ... "may the fleas of ten thousand camels infest the crotch of your enemies". If you like down to earth adventure stories, keeping superfluous literary extravagance to a minimum ... you may enjoy it.
I'm probably not alone in wanting to get paid to do what I love ... and for me that is going on crazy adventures, preferably canoeing down a wilderness river somewhere. I also have a DVD of my trip available on my website www.canoeingthecongo.com if that floats your boat.
I don't want much ... just a house in the country ... a woman who loves me ... and loads of friends. I'm still struggling with the first one, hence the push for you to buy my book/DVD, or hopefully recommend it to others.
Fast approaching the ripe age of fifty, I've worked in many fields, mostly outdoor related. Office worker, delivery driver, removals man, barman, Royal Marine, fitness instructor, ski-guide, Alaskan bear security officer, overland expedition leader, outdoor pursuits instructor, first aid instructor, development trainer/facilitator ... and now humble author and documentary maker in the embryonic stage. I currently work in the UAE as an adventure trainer to the Emirate military. Hopefully 'inshallah' I will at some point get to the stage where I can make a living canoeing rivers around the world, selling books and DVD's.
I wish you all the best ... and as I'm currently writing this on Christmas eve ... Happy Christmas !
P.S. If you don't have any enemies ... forget about the flea's thing!!
