This manual DOES cover the 1.6 Sport version of the car, contrary to the product information! There is even a picture of one in the Introduction! I nearly didnt buy the book because of this erroneous advice, but I thought it was wrong and it WAS.

I guess this is as good as any Haynes Manual.
The trouble spots are:

1. Photos are not that clear. In this day and age you should have Coloured photos but as usual Haynes gives you quite grainy, not even well taken, black and white pictures.

I saw an almost abandoned effort by Haynes to put stuff online on the Internet but at present the price is too high for the online version and could not decide whether the online one is any better than the hard copy.

The mechanical bits are up to Haynes' usual standard, but if you're hoping for comprehensive electrical diagrams, don't bother! If all you're interested in is little bits like "indicator circuit" it's fine. Perhaps because modern cars are so complex they think no-one will want full circuit diagrams. That said, I would not want to be without a Haynes for whatever car I own!

Very useful, and comprehensive. Let down by the poor quality of paper on which it is printed and not really up to general garage wear and rear

I have always bought the Haynes manuals for my cars and motorcycles, but sometimes the "remove A to get to B and adjust C" attitude projected doesn't reflect the "hit it with a mallet for half an hour" practicalities of working on a car or bike in the real world. They really should also add ambidextrous double jointed fingers seven millimetres thick to the list of requirements. Invaluable but not always 100% accurate or as simple as they make out. A "must" purchase, but be prepared to be adaptable.
