I can only add what others have said - this is a poor imitation of even the version of the show broadcast on terrestial TV in the UK, let alone the tour show itself. Why edit out the stand-out sections such as the misheard lyrics and some of the Queen finale? Sure it was not Peter Kay's doing but this version screams "rip-off" and I will take some consolation if just one Amazon customer elects not to buy this after reading my review or those similarly hacked off!

i feel cheated, seems they just banged out the dvd with no extras, the show is cut as some things are missing i have also been told , the price should be no more than £7, and i bet they re- sell it with different packaging and few extras thrown in next year to make even more money from it, the tour itself i think does make me chuckle but not as good as his tours way back

Did you go to this tour? I did, and the best bit by a long way was the misheard lyrics section. The audience were in fits of laughter during this, and this was the part of the show we really couldn't wait to see again as we had forgotton many of the lyrics he came out with.

Why have they cut this out of the dvd? We were left disappointed having been there and seen it live and rewatching to see the funniest bit has been cut.

Anyway, I think people are being a bit over critical of the rest of the dvd. There is a bit too much audience viewing but the stand up itself may have been a bit old and predictable but was still very good. Having gone live and rewatched, I still found the majority of the gig really funny.

Given it 4 out of 5 because they cut the best bit out and there are no extras at all!

I suppose I should have read other reviews because I was so disappointed when we put this DVD on and the bit we bought it for had been cut. While the show is OK in my opinion, the best bit by far was the song lyric section. I don't know why this bit was not on the DVD (copyright issues?) but had I been aware that this part of the show was not included (It was when we saw the show of the same name on TV last year) I would not have bought the DVD.

Having failed to get tickets for the show, we were looking forward so much to watching the dvd. What a huge disapointment - the sound quality is truly awful, full of echo and going up and down so much we kept saying 'what did he say?' Huge amount of time wasted on hysterical audience - and that was badly edited too, with many shots of people crying with laughter at fairly ordinary lines, obviously taken out of context. Laughter kept coming up so loud it overwhelmed the tinny/echoing sound of his microphone. (had the soundman never heard of checking for levels?? or maybe it was just Paddy in the wings with a tape recorder....)
Reading so many reviews of the live show then seeing dozens of other comments regarding the best bits being missed out, I am at a loss to understand why these were cut - much of the routines shown included re-hashes of old stuff, not too bad for fans if mixed with new and clever routines - as all the LIVE reviews say the show was!!! - and despite a truly inspired finale this ommission made the rest of the show come across as nothing really special.
Maybe if the frequently mentioned missing routines had been actually left in by the amateur editing the whole show would have been lifted, as it stands it is an obviously rushed-out let's-cash-in-on Christmas-sales dvd, which is why they didn't bother to add any properly edited extra bits, no time to do that, like they had no time to bother sorting out sound levels or re-record anything.
As huge PK fans it is so sad this has failed to live up to the delights of previous filmed shows, firmly believe it is very much due to the horribly bad director and editor, such a shame.
Just watch any of the other dvds of his shows, the quality of the one at his local town hall is a million times better than this!

This is definitely his weakest standup and only managed to raise a few titters from myself and the two other Peter Kays fans I watched it with. We all decided this must have been the reason for the relentless shots of audience members practically horizontal with hysterics. I have never seen a stand up video with so many shots of the audience, it's back and forth constantly. Off putting in itself. There were times when the camera was on Peter and he wasn't saying anything particularly funny, just building up the story, and the laughter in the background would ramp up a notch as if he had just delivered the punchline. This is one I won't be buying as a gift for anyone this Xmas I'm afraid. I've given it one because it's Peter and the end bit with the music was good for toe tapping value. Shame about the lack of laughs and bizarre editing.

I have just bought and watched this DVD tonight with my brother, as I went to see the show live in Manchester a few weeks ago and loved it, so wanted my brother to witness it too. After watching the DVD I felt extremely disappointed and ripped off. The reason being the most hilarious part of the show has been cut from the DVD, the segment where Peter brings out his walkman and plays songs then pauses to quote the misheard song lyrics. This was the part of the show right at the end, just before the encore, which had the whole audience in tears of laughter, including myself, it finished the show off brilliantly and to cut it out of the DVD, well it just killed it. Don't get me wrong the DVD is still a decent watch, and has a few good laughs, but nothing that will have you crying with laughter like his previous stand up DVD's. The part they cut was the main part I wanted my brother to see, it was the part I told him about after I went to see the show live, and for it to be cut out, well it just kills the DVD in my opinion. How can I describe it? Like taking the cheese out of a cheese sandwich. The main ingredient was missing.

Anyway after seeing the live show, I really enjoyed and the segment that was missing from the DVD was the part that made it for me, and had me in tears of laughter. After viewing the DVD I felt let down and disappointed, the feeling that the DVD is not complete, and felt totally gutted and ripped off, kind of robbed out of my money because so much was missing. Imagine Peter Kay 'Top of the tower' without the party segment at the end. Well that's what this is like.

Also there is absolutely no extras on the DVD at all.
