The way this DVD is described I was expecting to see an actual live performance or at least 55 mins worth of clips from different performances edited together. What you get is a documentary following Peter on his tour with some clips of him on stage (a lot of which is him pointing a camera at the audience).
This would have made a very good bonus feature on the previously released DVD but on its own it was a massive let down. If you really love Peter Kay then get it but if you want an actual stand-up comedy performance don't bother.
I have now changed my score from 2 stars to 1 after watching the DVD for a second time. I thought I'd give it another go but just ended up even more pissed off at myself for going against my better judgement and buying this rubbish.

Well im lucky to be the first reviewer after making my purchase weeks ago for the wife.

here we have Peter Kay at his very best, or worst i should say. not since Special Kay have we had such an expensive monologue of clips and rehashed materials, yes, there is SOME new material but not as much as the DVD claims. Instead we are again faced with interviews from people all over the Uk declaring their love for Peter and what they like best about his shows which is fine if it was bundled as a special feature - which is what this should have been. Not only that but we have a multitude of old clips from various TV spots, appearances and the like which again are ok in moderation and if they were bundled as a special feature.

For example, this is whats on the DVD:
1: Couple of interviews with the public
2: about 35 minutes of extended footage of peter kay looking around the gig with camera? why
3: various tv spots from look north?
4: a few interviews to pad it out with peter
5: about 10 minutes of ACTUAL new (not yet convinced) stand up

I understand the need to make a living but releasing these types of DVD's is just money grabbing and ripping off your loyal customers. We do love you Peter and you need to make a better effort with the quality of your DVD's in future or you will just end up being known for a comedian that peddles rubbish in the hope that the gullible UK public spend their hard earned cash on your DVD's for xmas presents.

This should have been a special feature addon to the DVD which was released last year.

As i have said above, we as a family love your comedy, timing and comedic presence but we do not appreciate being ripped off every year.

I bought this as a Christmas present, thinking that it was a new stand up DVD. I am a big Peter Kay fan and was looking forward to giving the present to my boyfriend and watching it together.

When we put in on and found that it was a documentary about the making of his last tour we were both really disappointed. The documentary is really boring too. Total waste of money and a rubbish Christmas present.

Do not buy - it's really bad.

What a disappointment...

Despite comments to the contrary in my opinion, Peter Kay is obviously trying to milk every last penny out of the general public.

This is the last time I will buy one of Kay's DVDs. At best the content of this DVD could have made a somewhat disappointing 'The making of...' in the bonus footage of a proper stand up tour DVD. Indeed my family were convinced I had pressed the wrong button on the DVD menu and that we had been watching the extras rather than the main DVD. Unfortanately for all, they were wrong. There was nothing else. Unbelievable.

Never in the field of light entertainment have so many people been so underwhelmed by a single DVD.

Do yourself a favour and spend your hard earned money on anything but this rubbish - unless you want to help pay fo a rather substantial extension to Kay's mum's bungalow!

How many comments on here clearly written by a PR crew trying to sell this crap! Don't get me wrong for a channel 4 progarm over xmas this would have been great! But from the cover you would expect to see Peter on stage doing his thing but sadly no as I didn't get the chance to see on stage this would have been a great DVD but no. Instead you get to see peter watch the royal wedding in his hotel room with some other bloke WTF Peter lad. Don't buy this download instead as you won't get your money back or get your monies worth from this Peter please release a proper live footage dvd from your tour as expected better from Britains best loved northen lad.

One star is one too many on this one shame on you lad!!

Simply a huge ripoff. Thinking like everyone else that this contained his actual stand up gig, sat down to watch. After about 10 minutes, I started to think I'd selected the wrong option from the menu, but no. It continued in much the same vein, showing clips of interviews and TV slots and parts of the gig where Peter was interacting with the crowd as they arrived.

In the interim skipped forward research in the hope that the gig would eventually start, but it didn't. What a complete ripoff!!
