Product Description

Product Description

Rafe Spall plays struggling sports journalist, Pete. Although well meaning, Pete sometimes lacks the emotional maturity required to deal with life’s more intricate problems. He often wishes that life had clearly defined rules, like sport. But life isn’t like sport, as Pete is only beginning to find out….

Pete’s life is commented on, as if it was an exciting sporting event, by two professional sport commentators, anchor man Colin King, and former international footballer Terry MclIroy. Colin and Terry discuss and analyse Pete’s cock ups with accompanying statistics, on screen graphics and slow motion recaps.

Written by Bert Tyler-Moore and George Jeffrie (co-writers of Channel 4 hit comedy Star Stories) and made by the producers of the award winning Peep Show.

if you like the obvious sometimes cringe worthy comedy style of the peep show you will love this. I started watching it to fill in a few evenings where there was rubbish tv and i was addicted. Rafe is lovely and irritating and endering with a never failing sense of self presevation.
I can't pick a favourite part but i love how much he can hate a mates girlfriend for no real reason and then be so two faced. Bitchier than any girl he works a situation to his advantage whenever he can.
This pack is great value and a good christmas gift for peep show fans x

Its not often that a new comedy hits the floor running - PeteVLife certainly manages it! If you like comedies such as 'How Not To Live Your Life', 'Not Going Out', 'IT Crowd' or 'Peep Show' - then this is one to add to your collection. Pete is very self centered and is always looking out for No1. However he always gets his comeuppance with hilarious consequences. We are guided thro Pete's shallow life by two sports commentators - when I originally saw these characters on TV I found the format to be a little bit distracting.. but having just rewatched the entire series on DVD I actually believe it does add something different and genuinely funny to the series. Definitely worth a watch!

1st series of a new style of comedy. This little gem was missed by lots of people by being shown on late night television.Poor old Pete he makes you cringe because of his lies and you just know its all going to get him into trouble.Love the style of the two rugby type commontaters replaying Petes mistakes. Can't wait for the second series to be released.Highly recommended for a good laugh.

If you enjoy shows such as Peep Show, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, or Spaced, you'll enjoy Pete V. Life. Very funny, great actors and stories, can be pretty gross at times, but is always entertaining. Not your usual sitcom.

I always feel depressed when Peep Show finishes, so if you too suffer from withdrawal symptoms then this is the perfect antidote. It is brilliant, in a Peep Show/Inbetweeners sort of way. Pete reminds me of Alan Partridge and Jeremy from the afore mentioned Peep Show. He is totally self obsessed and uses others quite shamelessly, never a bad pemise for a comedy. Watching him stumble and blunder his way through life is addictive. I can`t wait for more.

There hasn't been much hype surrounding this series and when I mention it to people I tend to get blank stares. I kinda stumbled across it by accident doing a bit of channel hopping in a fit of boredom. I was instantly entertained although I don't think the series is really aimed at middle-aged fogies like me. Pete Vs Life either had me in stitches or at the very least chuckling with pleasure. There's simply never a dull moment. I even watched four episodes one after the other. The storylines, often bordering on the farcical, are neatly plotted (albeit a tad crude, rude and lewd), Rafe Spall as the shiftless and hapless Pete is brilliant and the supporting players are smartly cast. I wasn't too sure at first about the gimmick of having two sports commentators analysing Pete's antics but their fatuous banter and scurrilous remarks (often involving well-known celebs) eventually won me over. Pete Vs Life was, at least for me, an enjoyable discovery. I sincerely hope there's gonna be a third series.

A truly creative sitcom, and these days that is quite rare. Pete takes on life with two sportscasters making a running commentary on his successes but usually his failures. Life kicks Pete's "arse" and it's just plain funny to watch.
