This is a handsomely produced competently written account of the career of Peter Dye, the renowned American golf course architect. It is extremely strong on describing the various courses that Dye has designed, and rightly highlights the impact that his early courses (e.g. Harbour Town) had on the direction of golf course architecture in the latter half of the 20th century. It is slightly sycophantic, in that Dye's courses can be regarded as occasionally "tricked up". Definitely one for the enthusiast of the study of golf course architecture.

For those of us who appreciate the unusual and challenging golf holes you need this book! Pete Dye has the touch for the delicacies of pure golf play, he keeps you honest and each hole offers a new experience. I purchased the book because I have played many of the Pete Dye courses in the desert and live on the Citrus, so this book has special meaning to me. Great read.

It was good. However, some names of the courses in Japan don't exist due to the changes of their ownership. The book needs to be revised.

Really well-researched and superbly-written. Every Dye course has a fascinating and revealing backstory, and Zuckerman tells each one through the eyes of a true fan and with the pen (laptop) of a cultured and diligent writer.
