"Logic creates understanding, emotions create commitment" this really sums up the book. It gives you incredible insight into how people have concrete beliefs and values at their core and how to decipher them.
Powerful pitching and presenting, building client rapport, constructing persuasive sales emails, selling your ideas in metaphors in conversation, there are lots of fantastic ideas, you can use to increase your likeability with clients and push your ideas and sales forward. It is a great book that will give you an edge in a tough economic climate.
It offers a myriad of techniques from picking up non -verbal cues from clients, like reading body language, to creating instant rapport and good feelings with new clients. I found the book riveting and couldn't put it down. The summary section has practical exercises at the end of each chapter, which is really useful to help you practice all the new techniques.
I found it has really helped my client relationships run smoother, and I already am seeing better sales results. A great read.
Marcus Corah's book is an easy read, unlike so many books covering NLP.
Even having studied NLP and other elements of psychology I picked up lots.
It really is a great book for helping you to know how to use emotional persuasion to win more business.
A must for anyone running an agency, especially if they are in charge of new business.
Firstly I think this book fills a hole in the market. There are lots of books on presentations, there are lots of books about persuasive presentations and there are even books about persuasive sales presentations. On the same grounds there are lots of books about NLP and persuasive language generally. This book is about using NLP and persuasive language for sales presentations. And because of that very tight focus the book covers some great, practical ideas that would fit a novice or a grand master alike.
The book is written in an engaging style with lots of practical examples and it is obvious that Marcus is very experienced in this area. One of the best bits about the book is the structure. Marcus ends every chapter with a summary some suggested exercises to ingrain the learning and a self-rating score so you can work out how useful the chapter has been.
For me the book scores the most in the final section about advanced strategies. Marcus takes some quite complex NLP concepts, explains them simple and applies them to the context of pitch presentations brilliantly.
This book has ideas and techniques that you could use in a multitude of ways but if you have any need to present information where you are selling to your audience (and that should be every presentation) this should be a must read book.
