Definitely one of my favourite video game artbooks that I own. There's no cheapness of content here - the developer's notes on their inspiration, like the mythology behind each persona, deep looks into the personality and appearance of each character, even full pages revealing the different stages of character sketches that lead you to their final look, as well as an extensive interview with the art director about his processes, design philosophies and the journey toward creating the town of Inaba - all these elements leave you with a rich insight into how this wonderful game was made, and the human effort behind it.
It doesn't end there, with lots of glossy pages of promotional art, and interesting little things like test screens and previous box covers, even pictures of in-store posters used at the release, which have already provided me with hours of interest and keep me looking back from time to time. The front cover with its sharp cuts of glossy and matte sections is beautiful to look at too.
This book is a must have for anyone interested in Persona 4, anime, or just beautiful artwork. It is full of gorgeous drawings of characters and places from Persona 4 coupled with interesting character write ups and explanations of the evolution of the central characters. It is a book that you will be going back to time and time again.
If you're a Persona/Shin Megami Tensei fan, this is something you'll love. Seeing character concepts and reading about how Soejima-sensei and his team came up with the personas, the characters, the whole game development process was really inspiring and I'd reccomend this to anyone, happily.
Every page is printed on high quality paper and all the designs and drawings come with information and concept art, I really love it and it is great value, worth every penny. 192 pages I could look at over and over. Would really recommend for any Persona fan.
This official book from the Persona 4 game shows some of the amazing artwork (characters, backgrounds,...) and an exclusive interview with the creator of the franchise. Well worth your money if you're a fan of the game.
