An absolutely fantastic gaming mouse. Works great with all I have played so far. The ability to adjust the DPI value is very useful, in sets of 500 up to 4000 with the software included. Changing between one mode and another is an easy click of a button, although this does use up two of the customisable buttons(and another two for left and right click, although DPI mode can be changed manually with the software).

As the mouse is pretty much ambidextrous(although left handed people have to use the other two customisable with their ring finger) I wasn't sure how it would feel. Once I tried it, I found it comfortable, and I quickly got completely used to it.

The mouse visually looks great, I love the burnished effect on the copper, while the light options(pulsing and brightness) add an extra nice aesthetic. Individually changing the DPI value for each colour using the software gets round the supposed pink mouse problem. For example, I currently have red with the most DPI, and pink with the least.

I am currently using the customizable buttons for copy and pasting, really useful when browsing the internet. They also have the ability to execute macros, but I haven't used them yet. There are options to have different profiles for different games, while the advanced settings allow the changing pointer speed and tail like window's mouse settings, scroll speed and the ability to adjust the mouse's polling rate(how often the mouse sends info to the computer, the higher the greater precision)

Overall, I am thoroughly pleased with this mouse and would definitely recommend.

after 1 full day of fps gaming...

the good:

decent enough optical sensor
omron switches
125, 250, 500, 1000 hz polling rates
well designed software interface
easy install (win7 64 bit np)
comfortable to hold
palm or claw grip
no prediction
spare pack of feet included
gold plated usb connector with a relief pattern design on the plastic housing
all buttons fully customisable
slightly grippy sides
2 side buttons
good packaging with colour instruction booklet in english
black braided cable with dark grey threads
feels solid enough
not too light in weight
customisable pulsing lights

the bad:

mouse wheel is a bit loose, can move it slightly left/right (bad luck?)
fast left/right mouse movement causes loose mouse wheel sound*
very very slight 'clunk' when releasing nearest side button.
yet another mouse with my long fingers hanging over the end of buttons 1 and 2 (when in palm grip).
not quite tall enough for my liking
500 dpi increments

the ugly:

negative acceleration with fast movement

*doesn't happen with slow/medium speed swipes, not enough to really bother me and in no way audible when game volume is low (headset).

---

at £17 not even close to marking down from 5 stars. money not wasted at all, and apart from minor complaints i am very pleased with the purchase. if you're on a tight budget i'm sure most people wouldn't be disappointed. not bad enough to send back but probably wouldn't buy again, especially for the unfortunate mouse wheel issue, sticky side button and negative acceleration.

i purchased this mouse because i loved the way it looks and need some more programmable buttons for battlefield 3. i was very happy when the mouse came as it looks exactly as it does in the pics. installation was easy on windows 8. the software was pretty good, if a little confusing at first, but soon enough i was up and running on bf3. i have large hands, so reaching the 2 thumb buttons on the left side of the mouse required a slight thumb shift; they didn't sit directly under my thumb. i soon got used to it though. you can set any of the buttons to whatever you want including the dpi switching buttons. this is handy, and means you do actually have 7 customizable buttons. the lighting is very cool, my favourite being red, as it was quite a vivid red, which you make pulsate or dim it or brighten it. lights chanage from red to blue, green or pink. the copper finish is lacquered/varnished, which feels really nice when its cold in your palm, but after a month or two i noticed it was starting to wear. another couple of months later and the finish is all but worn away. all they buttons still work perfectly, and i have never had any problems with the mouse not working, or failing. the scroll wheel is still fine too, although there is some noticeable slack in between the notches. over all i have enjoyed this mouse, and its customization. its a medium weight, medium size mouse. great value but more form over function...with some great functions and a pretty good form.

After reading mainly positive reviews on Amazon, I decided to opt for this Mouse; My findings are: -

GOOD
Mouse has a quality feel
Weight is about right
Looks good with the illumination

BAD
I had a nightmare even getting the software to open
Eventually after figuring out how to the load the program, I couldn't make any customisations as my changes were not applied.

CONCLUSION
Unless Perixx sort out the buggy software, this Mouse is pretty pointless as it is not customisable in any way so unfortunately I CANNOT recommend it. Such a shame as I am sure it is a quality product.
