I adore this book – 178 pages of a thoughtfully selected collection of sensual and beautiful poems, as well as some of Mr Lincoln’s outstanding erotic stories.
Will not give to much away from the new story “Focus” just going to say……caught in the act in public, and I loved it.
Its well written and engaging as always. I would find it very hard to pick a favourite piece from this book as they all offer something different.
The minute you enter the pages of this stunning anthology you will be totally lost in it. I have read all of Cameron’s books and I was still immersed in it!
If you love poetry, you should get this book. If you love erotica, you should get this book. In fact, just get the book! You’ll not be disappointed.
It’s a wonderful addition to my collection and I was lucky enough to buy a signed copy
A easy 5 Golden Apples
If you haven't yet read MINE: Body and Soul (the poetry collection by Cameron Lincoln), I would strongly recommend that you do. Perfect Pleasures just proves what I suspected after reading the MINE collection. Mr Lincoln is an extraordinarily talented writer who has proven that he can write prose equally as well as he can write poetry. His words draw you in so far that you do not want to escape, regardless of whether or not the story is to your particular tastes. Once again he succeeds in making the reader really feel.
I believe that Mr Lincoln may not be confined by genre with the talent that he possesses, and I sincerely look forward to any work he may publish in the future.
To bare everything to one who would appreciate
What it was to share so fully that bodies
And minds had no limits…"
Perfect Pleasures is a collection of poetry and short stories by Cameron Lincoln. I read Maria Unchained last year and cannot believe I didn’t read more of his work before diving into Perfect Pleasures last week. Cameron has a captivating way with words, truly displaying erotica in its most romantic and beautiful form.
The poetry is crafted with finesse, creating such vivid imagery that is seldom found in full length novels. Every line, pause and verse cemented the fact that, for me, Cameron Lincoln is an artist with words. Give a painter a paint brush he’ll paint you a picture - give Cameron a pen and he will create words that call to the depths of your imagination, your secret fantasies and your deepest desires.
His poetic style was consistent in his stories. Every story is different and each new tale is as enchanting as the last and sweet Jesus they are hot! There is something for everyone; sex outdoors, sex in front of a camera, an appetising banquet (it’s not what you think!), nylons, restraints… I could continue, but I urge you to buy the book and see for yourself just how versatile Mr Lincoln is. He stepped outside the comfort zone many writers call home and I’m convinced the paper it’s printed on struggles to take the heat, in this anthology of erotic genius.
I think the hardest question a reader can be asked is: ‘what is your favourite?’ and for that reason, I don’t have favourites.
I made an exception this time and will tell you that Focus, the exclusive story for the collection, was my favourite piece of the seven poems and seven other stories in Perfect Pleasures.
Sometimes a piece of writing makes an impact; there’s no technical reason why, no checklist to follow; it just stays with you, and Focus really stood out to me.
The story of Richard and Stephanie and the variety of their sex life, the comfort of their relationship and the snowy day where they found Simon and Eleanor, is what stayed with me and what I think will appeal to many, whether because of experience, lack of experience… or some steamy wishful thinking and has what I will call the Cameron Lincoln stamp of quality.
Take it from someone who read it in a coffee shop and was interrupted by a squeaky voice asking, ‘What’s that you’re reading?’ that it should be read in private. The woman (who I later found out was reading over my shoulder while I was curled up on the sofa with my vanilla latte) was not what I had in mind for Stephanie and I read it again when I got home.
To get to the point, Perfect Pleasures is descriptive, it’s fluid, it’s beautifully written with talent and flare, and it will have you squirming. It is a little treasury, 178 pages of beautiful and raunchy, tender and carnal romantic erotica that should be tried out by readers willing to explore a world of pleasurable perfection.
The wine will be gone before you know it. You'll try to pace yourself, but the evening will be spent reading just one more story. You'll flip back a few pages, laugh again at her sultry one-liner or his diabolic foolishness, and then rush on to see what happens int he next story. In the end, you'll have already picked the characters you want more from. If you're cheeky then you may even email Cam what came next. Where did she go after he slipped her into his bed? How many mornings did he linger, hoping she'd return, with a pack of her favorite cigarettes stashed in a bed side drawer? What did her friend say when she saw the obvious marks of another midnight tryst?
Cam sows fertile ground for the romantic and serves delightfully perverse desires for the more jaded. His muse is temptation and seduction of the senses and the mind. Absolutely gorgeous reading for you, and a great gift for your sensual lovers.
