Having never visited South Africa but always having wanted to it was a joy to read Taryns descriptions of traditional and modern South Africa. Taryn has a unique writing style that brings the words to life as though you are there. Her writing flows beautifully and several of her descriptions were so detailed that I really felt I was amongst the surroundings and I could imagine and experience the countryside and towns vividly in my mind as they I was right there inside the book.

The characters were relatable and I was intrigued to find out why the main character Sarah had returned to her homeland of South Africa after fleeing London and all her family and friends. The storyline was great and the reason is shocking!

There are some really unique moments in the book that were lovely to read, the gifts, the giraffe as my daughter has one she sleeps with every night too and especially the mug of hot chocolate! Every time I sat down to read, I made one to bring the story even more alive!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Taryn's debut novel. The story of Sarah and how she conquered her fears and deals with her past and future. Taryn writes with a fluidity and describes the locations and scenes wonderfully to give vision to her readers. For a debut novel this good, I will look forward to her succeeding novels and what they will bring too!

What an amazing book! Reading it was like a breath of fresh air, I was hooked from the first page and couldn't put it down until I finished it (it only took me 6 hours).

Fell in love with characters, story was so realistic, I could feel their pain, joy, happiness and love.

Story of the real friendship that lasts forever and no distance or time can change it. Story of love and loss, second chances and fresh starts of life. Story of forgiveness and moving forward.

Honestly I thought this was a beautiful read, it had just the right amount of description without being too much, it gave you room to picture the characters in you own imagination. I particularly like that the reason for her moving isn't told straight away and the lead up to it was engaging enough to keep me invested as a reader. If you want to read a book that has love, loss and rediscovery then this is the book for you. I will keep my eyes peeled for anymore by this author And look forward to it.

Wow what a lovely beautifully written story, the characters totally come to life and the descriptions of places and people are so real it makes you feel like you are there inside the story.

I think everyone that reads this will also be converted to the hot chocolate recipe....yummy!

Plot and story line flowed and the reasons for Sarah to go back home to S.A were heart breaking so tears and smiles all round.

I absolutely loved this - the book arrived about 3pm and read the whole thing before bed.
The premise is simple - Sarah returns to her native South Africa after experiencing an incident in her personal life. I didn't work out what had happened until it was revealed in the story and was so beautifully written I had tears in my eyes.
One her return to South Africa so rekindles friendships with some of her closet friends and redefines the boundaries as well as make so new key relationships.
The story of Sarah rebuilding her life is beautiful written and totally gripping, mix this with the wonderful descriptions of South Africa and you have a wonderful novel which had me hooked for beginning to end

Wonderful story of lost, betrayed and love.
I really loved this book and couldn't help myself to care for Sarah, I wanted to hug her tight and tell her that everything will be all right. I have never been in South Africa but while read the novel, it was like that I was there, smelling the wonderful scent of lavender, and imagine the African sky.
