Product Description

Uncut version of Alex de la Iglesia's film with 5 minutes of previously banned footage. Perdita (Rosie Perez) and Romeo (Javier Bardem) are two lovers well-matched in temperament; Romeo is a master of bloody Voodoo rituals, Perdita is willing to cast her own spell on anyone for her personal gain. Not content with ferrying an illicit cargo of foetuses from Mexico to Las Vegas on behalf of the Mafia, the pair also kidnap an innocent young couple en route. Earmarking one of their hostages for the starring role in one of their bizarre sacrificial ceremonies, Romeo and Perdita remain unaware that life on the edge could be about to catch up with them. The character of Perdita crops up in David Lynch's 'Wild at Heart', also based on stories by Barry Gifford.

Oh my goodness! Perdita is the ultimate anti-heroine in this amazingly underestimated treat.

Hilarious, sexy, violent and at times wonderfully silly. The type of adventure Tarantino would love to have made but fell short every time. Perdita has more girl power than Kill Bill by a mile.

In some ways a sequel to David Lynch's Wild At Heart (several of the minor characters are featured here in a story from the same writer, Barry Gifford) and in a similar way all of the people are tainted (some more than others) and although Perdita and Romeo are the baddies you have to love them for their cool insanity and wicked sense of humour.

Thankfully the original cuts have been restored so the drama and thrills flow freely to keep this roller coaster chugging along nicely for a potent and colourful ride.

A Bonnie and Clyde for the 1990s. I love it. Rosie Perez plays the best ever femme fatale. You can sense she relishes her sassy, trashy portrayal of Perdita Durango. In some scenes she is nothing less than mouth-watering.

You may recognise familiar faces in the minor cast - most are as bonkers as the leads.

Don't rent this. Buy it to keep. To keep playing again and again... and again.

A fast moving cult film from the 90's. Javier Bardem and Rosie Peraz give some of their best performances.

On a downside it may not be for everyone the subject matter is dark and sometimes violent.
But if you like your cult films then this is one to add to your collection.

The uncut Perdita Durango came from England and is obviously in a different format from United States editions. The DVD will not play on my machine, hence I have not been able to watch it.
