The Perception Transformation is a great blend of psychology and philosophy with a positive and practical foundation behind it. I know that what I have learned from this book will definitely influence my thinking in the future in several ways; the book offers some great tips for understanding your own personal thought process in a straightforward and concise manner without being overly complicated or with points based on psuedo-science.
Though I do wish it was a bit longer, as I feel that the author really has a talent for writing, I am still impressed with the overall book and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more by Chris Smythe. I feel that anyone with even the slightest interest in how we individually perceive things will be able to appreciate this book.
With a diverse spectrum of issues and examples used, from how perception affects one's behaviour or approach to a particular event or receptive to a particular situation, to learning how to change your perception from previously having bad experiences, to being open minded and having a positive mental outlook, there is something for everyone, of whom wish to learn more about perception or wishing to change for the better.
Overall, a decent book for those who would like to know more about perception and want to change for the better.
As self help books go, I think that this one could really help those people with a somewhat gloomy outlook on life. The knowledge that I gained from the book is that every situation can be looked at from a different perspective, and negative situations can be turned around and made positive simply by looking at the problem from a different angle. I particularly liked the chapter that explained how your upbringing, and past history can have a bearing on your perception of your life in the here and now.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to improve their state of mind and general levels of happiness and contentment, as it is well written and easy to understand. I shall definitely look out for more books from this motivational and inspiring author in future.
The author sheds some light on how perception is influenced by society and uses the Attribution theory and the Social Comparison theory to explain this point. The key point I took from this book is that if my perception is not helping me achieve happiness then I have to change it because it could be the cause of my unhappiness. There are several ways of changing perception and a number of them are explored here. I like when the author said that taking responsibility for one's actions is necessary for a change of perception.
There are many scenarios painted in this book which help to emphasis the author's points.
This is a good book and I really like the creative book cover
The psychology and reasoning behind this variance is covered but also - crucially - what to do about it, how you can use this insight for good in your life and the book does not shirk on that. It might seem like a struggle to be able to change something so fundamental as how we see the world but there is solid guidance here so that anyone can get started and I would recommend it.

Please don't waste your money. The author just repeats himself and offers little advice. In fact, you could get this info for from on the internet. Total disappointment.Published 21 months ago by Amazon Customer

Covered much of the basics in a theoretical way about thinking, through experiences and how these experiences affect a persons thinking.
Short,though we'll put together.
