Product Description

Synopsis

Searching for his grandfather lost in the mountains, Glyn hears voices which pull him back in time to the early days of Wales. As Glyn follows the tracks, the voices form a linking chain across the ages, from before the last Ice-age to the invasion of the Romans.

Format: Paperback
This is one of my favourite books, Very evocative, descriptive and imaginative. Made even more interesting if you know the area and its history, it brings the landscape to life in so very many ways.
Should be more widely recognized.

If you want an idea of the history of England and Wales from a Welsh perspective, this is the book for you. Raymond Williams brings the periods he describes vividly to life, and using the device of a search through the Black Mountains to link the chapters is inspired. Get the second book too; it is equally as absorbing.
