Top customer reviews
The book is roughly divided into two sections. The first section has a history of kites and covers kite tradition around the world. This section also includes some basics of kite flying such as tying knots, wind conditions, kite terminology and useful tips for making kites.
The second section is a collection of kite designs presented as scale drawings. The kite plans do not go into enough detail for a novice kite builder to construct a complicated design without reference to other guides. There are no step-by-step instructions. The plans are more like sketches that can be taken as a starting point and provide an overview of the diversity of kite designs.
