The story is really well told and moves at a brisk pace. If you like history, Ireland, fiction, WW2 or indeed a love story then this book is for you. It's substantial in terms of its weight but I read it cover to cover over a holiday weekend. Most accessible and a complete delight.
I won't say too much about it as I don't want to spoil the story for any other readers. Suffice it to say that this is a great war/post war book with strong believable characters reflecting the struggles and difficulties a neutral country such as Ireland in this case, would have had at the time.
Having an Irish mother who was born and raised in Killarney at the end of the war, I am well aware of the huge German influence upon Ireland then.
This is a great historical thriller and I found it hard to put down when I was supposed to be meeting Edinburgh friends in the pub!
I look forward to more from Ron Culley.

This is an unusual story. It is set in Ireland during the second world war. You won't find many books set in this era in Ireland. Read morePublished on 14 Oct. 2014 by Joseph Mcgrath
I knew a little about Irish links to Nazis but this really opened my eyes! The author does a grand job in mixing history and fiction to give us a most enjoyable story. Read morePublished on 24 Mar. 2014 by Tam O'Neill
It is fiction at its best. Focuses on an aspect of Irish history not much discussed. Fast moving, lots of thrills and spills - had me hooked from start to finish.Published on 23 Mar. 2014 by M MacDonald
