Review

Praise for Septimus Heap, Book Seven: Fyre: "To wrap up her deservedly popular series, Sage calls back nearly all of the first six volumes' cast members, living and dead, for a fresh flurry of Magykal feats and threats from the Darke."--Kirkus Reviews

"Fans of the first series will certainly delight as characters familiar and new go on new adventures and reveal new mythologies."--School Library Journal

"An exciting reunion with a favorite series."--Kirkus Reviews

"There's no need to read the Heap series first, though fans will welcome this new adventure, which is situated in familiar environs and populated by beloved characters--including a few destined to be new favorites."--ALA Booklist

"The writing, as always, is seamless, warm, and inventive, and angsty moments are balanced by reassurances, making it appropriate for a younger-than-usual Heap audience."--ALA Booklist

"Humorous banter, genuine friendships, and distinctive, well-realized settings elevate this story above others of its genre. Readers unfamiliar with the original series may find themselves lost at times, but the strength of Sage's storytelling will carry them through."--Kirkus Reviews

From the Back Cover

When Alice TodHunter Moon was five years old, she saw a beautiful golden Dragon Boat fly over her PathFinder village. She knew at once that the boat was Magykal.

That was years ago, before her mother died, her father disappeared at sea, and the Garmin took her best friend, Ferdie.

Now it's up to Tod and Ferdie's brother Oskar to rescue Ferdie from the Garmins' keeper, the malevolent Lady. Their journey takes them to the Castle, where they receive help from ExtraOrdinary Wizard Septimus Heap and ex-ExtraOrdinary Wizard Marcia Overstrand.

But the Lady's brother, the Darke sorcerer Oraton-Marr, has a plan that will put everyone Tod holds dear in danger. To save her people, Tod must embrace her identity as a PathFinder and navigate the Ancient Ways, mysterious Magykal paths leading to unfamiliar--and sometimes dangerous--lands.

Taking place seven years after the story arc of the original bestselling Septimus Heap series, PathFinder celebrates the joy of discovering one's own personal Magyk and of choosing the path that lets that Magyk flourish and grow.

Format: Hardcover
This is a book of rare and wonderful genius, but WARNING! You must buy the American version, published by Katherine Tegen Books, and ignore the English edition, in which the vital last page (An Author's Note) is mysteriously missing! The Bloomsbury English edition is not complete. It is the equivalent to cutting off the final bars of a Beethoven Symphony. I hope that they will quickly reprint to rectify this egregious error. In the meantime get this fabulous work from amazon.com and enjoy this brilliant and imaginative author at the height of her powers.
