Kudos to Amazon again, ordered 11.30, delivered next morning.
The clip on glasses work by clamping onto the lenses of your glasses either side of the nose pads. When you first put them on you will notice a vague blurred effect where the arms are sitting but once you look into the distance this will become less noticeable. The lenses flip up so that they are at a 90 degree angle to your face until ready to watch your 3D movie. I soon forgot they were fitted to my glasses but my wife had a different experience. The nosepads on her glasses are a little wider apart so it was a bit more of a struggle to get the clip ons clamped in place. The effect of this was to put pressure on the nosepads so that after 20 minutes or so, they were digging into her nose painfully. She had to give up and resort to the RealD glasses from the cinema.
This was a shame as they worked really well for 3D. Last night we took them for the first time to see Jurassic World and it (for me, since my wife could only use them for a while) was a much better experience than spectacles plus 3D glasses. The only thing I would say is that during the pre-film 3D trailers, i.e. while the house lights were still partly on, I could see reflections of the people behind me in the edges of the lenses. This effect went away once the lights went out for the film, but I wonder if this might be an issue when using them for home viewing. I don't have 3D TVs at home so can't confirm.
the only downside to the clip on 3d glasses is they are a little flimsy when you lift them up and for what you pay I would of thought they would of been more solid
overall the 3d glasses cover all of my prescription glasses and work really well
I give them 9 out of 10 pretty good
I am well pleased!
As for 3D viewing at IMAX cinemas, not so much. Everything just looks a little darker. Fortunately the free IMAX glasses were big enough to cover my glasses, so these clip-ons went straight in the bin.
