There is a deep understanding of the complexities of relationships here, and an acknowledgment that not all fracture lines are reparable; yet, sometimes, small miracles happen.
The penultimate chapter is so surprising and accomplished that I had to return to it as soon as I'd finished the book.
This is an intelligent and rewarding debut novel. I can't wait for the next one.
Of particular note is the description of the lace on the wedding dress, and the analogy to life - with the holes being what makes the lace so wonderful(OK, total misquote there, but you'll get it when you read it)
More, more, more from this talented debut novellist please.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, I would recommend it very highly a sensitive and well observed study of life and its twists and turns.Published on 6 April 2013 by S. Johnston

I enjoyed this book. Slowly you get to know the characters and gently, little by little you learn how the different characters interlink. A very pleasant read.Published on 7 Feb. 2013 by Alison E
Beautifully written and poignant. I loved this book for it's attention to the characters and pulling me in with wonderful description.Published on 24 Jan. 2013 by Julius VANDENBOSSCHE
