A Study in the Politics of Labour. A very interesting read, That covers the way the Labour Party works, from the humble beginnings right up and including. Harold Wilson's government from 1964-1970. A great look at the Labour Party, a great read, that gives a better insight into the challenges that Labour had then and the ones that Labour faces now.
This is a brilliant read if one wishes to understand the soul of the Labour Party. I now understand why the party has not disintegrated and, maybe, what holds it together. It is also interesting to find that the Tory fear tactics of claiming that voting Labour will lead to an immediate Bolshevik style revolution have been employed since the 1920s and 1930s. The book shows very clearly how the core of labour has held strongly to democratic parliamentary socialism and always by a substantial majority. Ralph Miliband is a great writer and it is a pleasure to read.
