I found this little gem a treat: full of bits of wisdom from a professor gifted with eloquence and brevity; it's 109 pages pack more useful information for managers, decision makers and others than many a so-called business book. Not only that, the style of writing is witty, making it an easy read between meetings. Situations are recognisable, and yet full of in-depth knowledge.
My manager gave it to me: brave, but if only more did the same... Recommended.

One of these things we invoke without ever having read - except we should!
The basic formulation of Parkinson's Law is simple (and not original), but has so many corollaries we have forgotten, and should remember.
Especially me, as I am now in retirement and writing reviews for Amazon. Would have been good if I'd taken it to heart earlier!

Northcote Parkinson is a GENIUS especially considering that this book was first published in 1957 and it is still a topical book. A humorous and true picture of our society.

This is a classic. It's terribly dated now but still an excellent read, especially the chapter about the nuclear power station
