Well written and with pearls of wisdom interwoven into every short story.
From detailing strategies for prolonging chargeable time to tactics to drive the boss "bananas", scheduling a series of conferences at distant points on the globe, each of which are sufficient to cause jet-lag and exhaustion.
He describes the way Boards work and how they will give greater credence to those technical details that they understand. As he says, a Board will approve the construction of a "nuclear power plant in 10 minutes" because they cannot debate the detail, whereas the building of a bicycle shed will go on for 4 hours with all sorts of specific input.
The basic formulation of Parkinson's Law is simple (and not original), but has so many corollaries we have forgotten, and should remember.
Especially me, as I am now in retirement and writing reviews for Amazon. Would have been good if I'd taken it to heart earlier!
An amusing book written by a perceptive gent who never ever got his hands dirty with manual work.
