1.0 out of 5 starsHistorical Fantasy Passed Off As History
24 December 2016 - Published on Amazon.com
This "non-fiction" book is pure fantasy, written by a daughter who clearly adored her father and didn't care much about the truth. Or maybe over the years, she has re written her memories. Let me give you an example. I am very familiar with Alcatraz. I went straight to her description of her visiting her father at Alcatraz, so I could get a handle on how accurate the book is. Everything about it was wrong. She talks of walking down a series of mazes of dark hallways, accompanied by a woman, to get to the visitation area. There were never any women working at Alcatraz, and the prison has no hallways. In fact, the visitation area is about 25 feet from the front door of the prison in a completely open area. I have never heard or read of a unaccompanied child visiting. I doubt it ever happened. Judy one example. Not to be trusted historically.
