OK, so we all know that sometimes, spin offs just, well, suck. I mean, was “Joey” ever as good as “Friends”? No. It wasn’t. So when one of my fave authors announced this release, I was … nervous. I should have known better.

Paranormal Transmissions is set in the same world as INK, and has 2 of the same characters, but apart from being written by the same author, that is where the similarities end. Yes, there is darkness and intrigue, but there is humour too. It’s not distracting, but it works with the plot line and the characters.

And if you want answers which you haven’t got from the INK series so far, well, some of em (about McNab and Carl at least) are laid to rest in this book. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Roccaforte novel if more questions weren’t raised than answered, but this book is cliff hanger free, and a very entertaining read. I’m eagerly awaiting the next one.

I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

HASH(0x9522809c) out of 5 stars Bella Rocks!! 8 Aug. 2014
By KelHawk - Published on Amazon.com

I could start by telling you how amazing this is, but I won't. I will tell you how intriguing, hilarious, chaotic, keep you on your toes, amazing this is. We are brought to the beginning where Carl is mentoring McNab. Carl always wants to help because it's the right thing to do, he wants to protect. McNab wants to help as long as he gets paid! In Episode 1 we find them in a crazy situation dealing with chupacabras. They then set off to investigate deaths that occurred in a small town that houses a children's sanctuary. The guys are met with resistance by the locals at first, but McNab lays on the charm with Miss Lila, who runs the sanctuary. We meet some special paranormal characters within the sanctuary. The kids are getting out of hand and we see the struggle between good and evil. Naturally the guys rush in to help. With their help more questions are raised and hard decisions are faced. One decision will hang with INK readers forever!

The author has a great way of writing Carl and McNab. These guys are constantly butting heads but will do anything for each other.

"So I will never forget how easy it is to darken my heart and set it aflame, I choose the name..."

As the Episode closes it will leave you on the edge of your seat waiting for more. Please read so you know who this quote is about! You must! Bella Roccaforte rocks!!!

HASH(0x95228918) out of 5 stars Great first episode. I want more! 8 Aug. 2014

This novella is about Carl and McNab, pre Shay days. We met both Carl and McNab in Bella's INK series. I've always wondered about them and how they got started. So I'm very happy Bella is giving them their own series.

I wasn't expecting this book to be so funny. I have my ideas on what the horn-dog McNab is. I can't wait to read more of their adventures with the paranormal.

This was a great adventure, that's for sure. It isn't at all like the INK series (which you also MUST read!) Bella did an amazing job with this book!

*This book was provided by the publisher/author to Nerd Girl Official for an honest review.

I am a fan of Bella Roccaforte! She is quick with the swipe of the keyboard and her wit and charm exudes through her writings. This is not the first book I have read from her. I have read the first book of the Ink series and the remainder is on my TBR. Her writing style fascinates me and it continues to shine in her spinoff.

The world for Paranormal Transmission: Push is set in the same world as the Ink series but it's Pre-Shay so you can feel free to read these before you jump into the Ink Fine Lines.

Her character development is sharp, is done with precision and is consistent. I tend to look for changes or personality deviations especially when the book is paranormal in nature AND when the book/novella is a spinoff. Nope not a speck of error here.

Carl and McNabb are a comedic male couple (non romantic of course) that sets the stage for future comedy magic. McNabb is immature but charming and will do anything lucrative in nature. Carl is Carl and I Like Him. There is something about him that I just plain adore.

I look forward to reading more of this fantastic serial series and I tip my Nerd Girl hat to you Bella!!
