As I do a mixture of mountain and hil walking I wanted a jacket that could cover all areas. This jacket is excellent, keeps me warm and dry on cold days and the breathability and vents really help to reduce body temperature on warm days. Comfortable material, extremely waterproof not designed for the height of summer, but then why would you wear a jacket in mid summer? Worth every penny!

Oh no my 9 year old Paramo coat zip broke. The choice was to spend £47.50 having the zip replaced by Paramo or buying a new one for £199. No real choice - new jacket! I was surprised how much better this new jacket is to my old one. I knew developments would have been made but this really is an impressive piece of kit. I have worn Paramo for over 10 years now and would always recommend it - unless you know its going to be really windy and wet but I think in the 10 years Ive been an owner I've only ever been really wet twice and then I dried out within the hour.

An excellent jacket really well made warm comfortable and great looking. This jacket is suitable for the serious outdoors type featuring a hood that will accommodate a safety helmet. The jacket has yet to be tested in storm conditions but you just know it will be brilliant.

I'd got so sick of other members of the hillwalking club going on about how good analogy was, that when my goretex jacket finally gave up and started to leak I got one. I've used it about five times on serious trips so far. First on a Munro near Crianlarich in horizontal rain. Kept me good and dry. The only minor niggle is that the rain was from the right, and entered the left hand pocket, a waterproof zip would have been nice! I stayed dry. The conditions were horrendous, so it's a minor niggle. Used in a gale on a nearby Munro in winter conditions,(Strong enough wind to blow me over once or twice. Snow, but not an actual white out.) Kept the wind out. Helped keep me warm in horrendous wind chill. I had worried that it wasn't quite as windproof as gore-tex. Well I don't think it is, but not to the point where this became a problem. Some chill through the fabric, but I haven't had to change my layering as a consequence. Much less prone to to condensation, much less noisy, and a nicer drape. Other trips were on nice sunny but cold winter Munro's and it wasn't challenged by the weather, but no condensation problems, no problems with wind chill. I haven't yet tried the reproofing or washing, but I may comment when I have. As I've worn it on beach walks, (In another gale), on trips up the A9 when I thought I might get stuck in a snowdrift, and as an everyday coat on a trip to the Canaries, it is needing a wash, so I'll report back when I do.

I would recommend this jacket to anyone wanting a performance shell that does not feel like wearing a plastic bag as some other products do (gore-tex). I'm converted.
