This is a book that will keep you guessing for much of the time but it will also sweep you away with it complexity. It was intimately passionate but it had a sub current of lies that made me a more than a little uneasy.
There is nothing like a kick ass fib to get the old grey matter ticking!
What is it with Tennessee that had both the main characters heading that direction?
Kat was interesting, she was on the run that much was obvious but from what was a closely guarded secret, she wasn’t willing to give details but whatever it was it had to be something huge because she gave off an air of determination and fortitude that I found it hard to decipher what could have possibly had her so lost.
Trevor (aka Zeus) was also on the move and again much like Kat he too had me puzzled. He was such a strong man that I was confused as to what the heck could have happened to force him to up sticks and take off. He was playing his cards very close to his chest but when he ends up on the same coach as Kat, he can’t help but take a shine to the blue eyed beauty, even though he knows full well it is a bad idea.
So when Fate dishes up the biggest bum rap, it means that the two of them are stranded, together and alone and in the middle of nowhere and suddenly Tennessee is a very daunting prospect.Read more ›
Kat and Trevor are travelling on the same bus out of their past, taking a chance on the unknown. Trevor finds himself attracted towards the ice princess on the bus and cannot understand the complexity of her standoffishness. Kat on the other hand notices the ‘Zeus’ on the bus but ignores him and the unknown pull she feels towards him. But then along comes one hell of a cluster eff that throws them into each other in more ways than one. Their journey just took a turn for the worse, throwing them into the Tennessee Forest! Both need to learn to survive and find salvation but to do that they need to trust and in order to do that Kat needs to let down some of her protective walls and Trevor needs to find a way to help her do that.
The majority of the book was of Kat and Trevor’s long trek through the forest, with barely any possessions and coping with their injuries. The storyline interweaves a little suspense along with their growing camaraderie and attraction to each other which stays resolute until later in the book when they eventually reach salvation.
I did enjoy this but for me personally I would have liked a little more romance and intensity between the pairing. At times Kat did annoy me with her attitude towards Trevor but was recovered when the romance factor kicked in.
Overall a good distinctive story that was engaging and enjoyable.
Mystery.....danger...attraction.... This book has it all.
I found this book captivating, I was desperate to learn both Kat and Trevor's secret.
I have to say Kat is a not an easy woman, she can change from hot to cold in an instant, she's strong maybe stronger than you think, there's something she says later in the book that I loved but can't share as its a spoiler lol!
Trevor, his a regular guy, caught in a situation and he's just the type id like with if I was caught in similar situation. His a looker, a thinker and quite a gentleman at times.
When these two first meet they don't really talk, it's all by looks and body language and I found it different but really entertaining. There's a slow defrosting process and they learn to communicate, at the same time we get to see what they're feeling and want to really say as chapters are split between the characthers.
I loved the different locations the book was set in, made it very interesting.
Paradise Forbidden is a book that will intrigue you, characthers will frustrate you at times but ultimately keep you turning pages until you know what I do!
If you find my review a little vague, it's on purpose as I don't want to give anything away.
4.5 star read
**i received an arc for an honest review**

This was a rather unusual read, I can't really explain why without giving spoilers which I don't do. Read morePublished 9 months ago by Louise McKie
