I could not put this book down, I read it within hours, I was hooked. And i need Paradise road now!! Cj Duggan is one of my favourite authors and this book just proves why she is so ace! Lexi is desperate to get away from her super quiet home town where she is home schooled. She cant wait to go to an actual school, One that her cousin also attends. She wants to experience what most teenage girls do. And boy, does she get plenty of new experiences. They also all link back to one sexy, surfer bad boy, Luke Ballantine. Although everything doesnt turn out or run as smoothly as Lexie had imagined it would. School isnt how she thought it would be at first, Her relationship with her cousin, Amanda, is strained and never in her wildest dreams, did Lexi think she would be sneaking out of her bedroom window in the middle of the night to meet up with boys and hang out at a bar. Luke Ballantine certainly brings out the bad girl in Lexi. The secondary characters, Amanda, Boon, Laura and Dean are fun and i look forward to seeing what they are up to in the next book. I so dont want to wait until September for the next book, I need to know how Lexi and Luke move forward. Paradise City is a great romance and YA book. I always highly recommend Cj's books and Paradise City is no exception. I am already super excited for Paradise Road.

Just finished both books in the 'The Paradise Series' & loved it! I want to know what happens next! Are there any more books coming for this series?! I finished 'The Summer Series' before I started this one & loved the writing style, so wanted to read more. That was the first time I've read anything by C.J. Duggan. Look forward to more.

Lexi is seventeen and lives in a small country community where there is no school. She is homeschooled and works hard to get good grades to allow her entry in the High School in Paradise City, something she has been dreaming of since she was thirteen years old.

She was very close to her cousin Amanda who now resides in Paradise City and is looking forward to be reunited with her.

Being a country girl, Lexie cannot wait to get a taste of city life but will it turn out to be everything she expected? When she sets eyes on bad boy Luke Ballantine, she is unable to keep her eyes off him. She finds herself bonding with him in detention of all places! When she finds out that he is attracted to her too, she is over the moon but their relationship is far from being plain sailing. Lexie has a tendency to act on impulse and she does some silly things without thinking of the consequences. Could this lead to the end of their relationship?

Boon is one of my favourite characters despite his "unsavoury tendency" and I find the humour quite refreshing even when the going gets tough. The first part of this book really held my attention and I look forward to reading the next part as I would love to see what's in store for Luke and Lexie.

I received this ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

After digging into Paradise City I realised it had been way too long since I’ve read a C.J Duggan novel. I’d forgotten how much I love her writing and her way with new adult novels. She has this way of writing entertaining and fun new adult novels which I always seem to love. She's a reliable author who will always deliver an enjoyable novel.

Lexie was the character I enjoyed the most. After living her life secluded, her town so small there wasn’t a school, Lexie has been sheltered from the normal activities a girl her age would usually experience. Moving in with her aunt for the school term is probably the best thing to happen to her. Spreading her wings, she experiences things she’s only every thought about. That includes boys. Out of everything she anticipated, Luke Ballantine wasn’t one of them.

She was a character which made me smile. Going to Paradise City for her was a huge culture shock. She had this naivety and excitement about her from experiencing all new and exciting things to her and it was enduring to witness. And Luke Ballantine was the cherry on the cake. Boy, you guys have to read this for yourselves to witness Luke and the gang.

The romance was cute and slow-building. The author definitely gave us plenty of anticipation and build up when it came to the relationship of Lexie and Luke. With the cliffhanger we were left with, I’m dying for Paradise Road! Paradise City is packed with the New Adult essentials of beaches, boys and plenty of drama. If beaches and bad boys are your thing, then waste no time adding this to your list.

I received a copy of this from the publishers via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

Lexie is a 17 yr-old living in a rural town called Red Hill, Austrailia. Life is boring and she dreams of leaving and finding something more exciting.

To her amazement her parents break the news that Lexie will be heading to Paradise City where she will live with her relatives, this is exciting news for Lexie, she loves the idea of spending time with her cousin Amanda. Lexie been home schooled so is even more excited to learn she will be attending Paradise High. I could almost feel her excitement, from the writing of the author.

Arriving at Paradise City Lexie is faced with the facts that her cousin Amanda is not very friendly towards her but she is determined to enjoy her time there regardless.

New school, new beginnings, Lexie decides to make the most of everything this place has to offer, there are plenty things to catch her eye. Good looking boys with bad boy reputations, sexy surfer dudes, and Lexie cannot help but notice them.

Living a secluded quiet life, it is no wonder Lexie is on a high, everything is exciting and she means to make the most of everything, including bar hopping and getting into trouble, she also discovers she has a strong attraction to one of the bad boys.

I enjoyed this story but be warned there is a cliffhanger, which means we will be excited to read the next part.
