Mickey and Benny are preparing the most important event in their lives, their wedding. It would be the day when they become a family along with Jasmine, Mickey’s daughter and Poochie, Benny’s dog. She is happy to have two dads, Daddy and Daddy B.
However, Mickey is not as happy as he should be. Something is worrying him, upsetting him and stressing him out.
Sometimes it is not easy to move on and let the past go. You always have regrets and what ifs. However, in the end, the past is just that, something that has already passed and we can’t change it. As we can’t do anything about the past, it is better to take care of the future and be careful not to do the same mistakes.
It’s a good story. I like Jasmine, her innocence and her love for her two daddies. My favourite part is the video call Benny makes one night and the result of it. I loved it.
I volunteered to read this ARC for a honest review.

They are planning their wedding and Benny has lots of ideas. Mikey is dragging his feet. Until they both really open their hearts, there can be no HEA.
Another wonderful love story, 4.5 stars, with strong, emotional and funny male main characters by this author, on my one-click list.
As Mikey begins to plan the wedding, it’s stir up a lot of emotions and dealing with unresolved emotions from the loss of a love one. Benny misunderstands Mikey being sad, withdrawal and the tension between them as Mikey possible doesn’t want to be married. Benny and Mikey are loving, comforting and supporting of each other. As the story is read, you go through many feelings from crying to laughing. Grab a box of tissues before reading Paper Roses for both sad and happy tears.
Benny and Mike, are deeply in love, a beautiful wedding surrounded by family and friends. Mikey, Benny and Jasmine are so happy becoming a family. Add 2 drag queens, 2 dogs, and a child in the wedding, ends up on the laughter and love.
I love a good romance!!
Paper Roses is 5th book, it’s novella, of A. E. Wasp’s Veterans Affairs Series. It’s quick, a fun read.
I am a huge fan of A. E. Wasp’s Veterans Affairs Series.
Veteran’s Affair books are sexy, romantic, funny, emotional, messy and realistic. A. E. Wasp writes her stories with REAL issues faced by the men and women who have ever served in the armed forces, especially those like PTSD and TBI. Her characters are richly layered and complicated filled with love and fun. The stories are homey and heartfelt with family and friends with atmosphere set in a small town where the characters know each other. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and am giving an honest review.
I give Paper Roses 5*****stars.
This is a lovely story that is part of the 'Veterans Affairs' series by A.E. Wasp that tells of Benito (Benny) Quintana and Michael (Mikey) Washington planning the wedding that will make them and their almost five-year-old daughter Jasmine an official family. Each of the men has obstacles from the past, including the health issues Benny brought back from his service with the Marines. The drama attendant with planning a wedding on short notice threatens to bring things to a crisis until they remember the true meaning of their pledges to one another.
This m/m romance does a fantastic job of giving a glimpse of the dynamics between two charismatic men who complement each other beautifully. Despite not being familiar with the series, I was instantly drawn into the story and cared about the characters immediately. The poignant moments and gradual revelation of the characters' backgrounds are done deftly and I love that there is a balance between the emotionally-laden scenes and lighter humorous moments. There is delicious heat between the guys, and precious moments involving their daughter as well as the canines in their lives. There is a lot packed into this short story, with glimpses of fascinating folks who undoubtedly starred in previous titles in the series, yet I was not overwhelmed by an avalanche of details. Instead, I am intrigued about the rest of the stories and have added a new name to my want-to-read list!
The writing is good, the story is a little predictable, but still brings tears in a few spots if you know the couple. Or are just one of THOSE people, I guess *looks away and sniffs*.
