“Real love stories never end.”

Jensen unintentionally broke Mia’s heart. Mia turned her back on him, ignoring and avoiding him for five years.

A job takes Mia to New York – where Jensen lives - working as a photographer with a magazine - that Jensen freelances for.

Jensen is on a mission to win her back, but Mia is scared stiff to let herself go and love him, again.

This book has all the feels: love, passion, despair, frustration. Mia spent so much time nursing her hurt and broken heart, and ignoring Jensen, that she completely missed the fact that he’d been biding his time, watching and waiting for the right moment to get her back. And, he’s not giving up this time.

His love for her is all-consuming and bordering on obsession. Mia was his rock through a broken childhood, who believed in him completely and encouraged him to be brave and go for what he wanted in life. Mia tried to move on with other men but none of them compared to him.

I love the way this book was written. Told in dual POV, Mia’s voice was strong. Jensen’s voice was expressed through his newspaper column and was witty and romantic. He’s a deep, soulful character.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! The author has a wonderful way with words and, I must admit, I sighed a fair few times over her poeticism. “Fragments of my soul were scattered on these pages…and you burned them.”

Go read it!!

I picked this book up immediately after finishing Kaleidoscope Hearts, not knowing whether this was going to be a continuation of Elle and Oliver's story. It isn't. This is Mia and Jensen's tale. It goes back in time to when they first met, and why they weren't together any more. Jensen broke Mia's heart, which she thought would never be the same again. Mia was going to stay single, focus on her career and have fun. That was working out OK, but not fantastic, until she gets a job opportunity that would force her into Jensen's world again.

This book could be read as a stand alone but I would recommend reading Kaleidoscope Hearts first as you get to know all the "friends and family" characters along the way. Loved it and have just picked up Elastic Hearts (book 3 in the series) to start next.

This was a story I was waiting to read and wasn't disappointed. As a fan of Kaleidoscope Hearts I was intrigued to find out what the story was between Mia and Jensen and why in the group gatherings they would avoid one another.

Torn Hearts was a great tease that set up the back story for Mia and Jenson and this book gives you the tale of what happens when they are brought back together and can no longer act like the other exists. When reading Kaleidoscope Hearts I wasn't a great fan of Jensen for some reason but I fell for him in this book.

This is a second chance story that is so heartfelt. I truly felt for Mia and understood the feelings of betrayal she had and the struggle she had getting over it. 5 years later and Jensen does everything he can to get her back as he believes she is his one.

It's an emotional story that grips at the heartstrings but totally worth reading.

I love a good second chance romance and this was simply one of the best I've read.
Torn hearts the prequel is included in the first part of this novel that brings you up to speed with what happened years earlier to Jensen & Mia and it will break your heart.
Years later they are working in close proximity to each other bringing about old hurts or maybe hurts that never went away.
Jensen, clearly regretful but still bitter over her not staying and Mia just heartbroken over his choices back then.
I understood both characters and their views but Mia I did connect with and would I gave been the same?
Hell yes!
In fact what was she meant to do when he dropped THAT bombshell!
A beautiful roller coaster of a story and I did in fact devour each page so Thankyou for another beautiful book

Claire Contreras is a talented writer. Its hard to put her books down and you race to finish and find out how the story ends. I enjoyed this book and liked how we got glimpses into Jenson's mind through the writing in his newspaper column. However I felt there was something missing. I didn't feel a great connection between Jenson and Mia. I would still recommend the book and look forward to reading more about these characters.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ my review will not do justice to this book. I just LOVED it. Paper Hearts is about second chances love. Jensen and Mia were in love , until Jensen moved to NY and got another girl pregnant. The story is beautifully written and heart wrenching. It was an emotional roll coaster but I fell in love with the character of Jensen who is the perfect definition of true love, soulmate and more. The story sucked me in and I had to read it in one go.
Mia and Jensen is a true love story full of passion, tears, love and raw emotion.
"You planted a seed inside of me, and it's spread like Ivy over my heart. There's no room for anybody else. "

I was cheering for these two all along. I was hoping they would get their head out of their asses and stop letting life get in the way of their true love for each other. After all you only live once!! why just plod along in life when you can live it to the fullest. I love this book and hope that some of the other characters will have their own story to tell soon too x
