Chronicle has a great track record with craft kits - "Cozy Crochet", "Knit Knack" and "Cardmaking Kits" are all great sellers. Now adults can join in the fun with these sophisticated but fun projects. Paper's not just for writing on anymore! In this kit, you'll find all you need to create ten beautiful and functional projects using nothing more than paper and a few simple extras. Use the enclosed paper to build a gorgeous translucent lantern that glows from within, or craft a whimsical pinwheel for a child's birthday. Make a hip and practical paper wallet for yourself, or a clever pop-up card and envelope for a friend. These projects will satisfy all your paper-crafting desires. And it's easy: the enclosed booklet gives you all the instruction you need (as well as a fascinating history of paper). The kit also includes easy-to-trace templates and a handy paper-folding tool. It includes: 1 box with hinged lid; 80-page book; 2 vellum pages; 8 sheets of card; 8 sheets wood-free paper; 2 sheets origami paper; project templates; folding/scoring tool; 6 wooden dowels; and a stencil.

I had set the kit aside for a rainy day to give my niece and nephew something to do other than watch another movie. The day comes and they get all excited and it turns out the kit is missing the most essential ingredient... a craft knife, aka an x-acto. It was such a let down as I was in no position to pack everyone up for an excursion to town. So we ended up reshelving the kit and you guessed it, turning on the TV.
We did recently pull it out again after acquiring the knife and other essential items and had a lot of fun with this.
I would recommend this kit for a fun afternoon, just make sure you are aware that the kit, in itself, is not complete as the description states. To complete all 10 projects, you will also need: a pair of scissors, a ruler, sewing needle and thread, glue, pencil, pushpins, kite string, ribbon, and a craft knife (x-acto).
