Eneloop by Panasonic is the next generation of "kind to the environment" batteries sold in over 80 countries around the world. The Standard Eneloop range has a minimum 1900mAh (AA), and a maximum 2000mAh (AA) per battery, and can be charged up to an impressive 2100 times. The AAA batteries carry 750mAh. On average families use around 70 batteries per year (Number used annually by a family of 2 adults and 2 children) By switching to eneloop, a single charger makes it possible to charge a year s worth of batteries. The Standard Ni-MH Eneloop range is recommended for use in digital cameras (approx 2 hours), health & beauty products (approx 3 hours), torches (approx. 5 hours) and many games & toys (approx. 20 hours). The low self discharge of the Standard Eneloop range means the batteries maintain 70% capacity after 10 years. All Eneloop batteries are pre-loaded with solar energy and ready for use immediately after purchase.

Decent set of batteries that seem to hold their charge. I use them in small solar lights outdoors but bring the batteries in to recharge in a charger each day. After 1 freezing night in January in the UK the batteries are down to 10-25% charge left. I think they would probably last 2nights if they received a little solar charging during the day but I don't think a small solar panel is sufficient to charge these batteries, they need brought indoors and put in a charger.

Eneloops are one of life's little luxuries. If you're willing to pay for them you will always be happy with them.

Other battery brands are serviceable but there are usually awkward drawbacks that can be obtrusive and obnoxious. Eneloops just work and can be used in all devices like normal alkaline batteries where others might not quite have the power to run them optimally.

Apart from losing Eneloops they last forever and take recharges over and over again just fine. I use mine mostly in kids toys and especially in one situation where poor battery performance sucks so, so badly. Controllers, especially VR controllers just work smoothly and reliably with Eneloops where others have drained quickly or cause them to become patchy/unresponsive as the power drains.

An added bonus is that Eneloops are usually charged on arrival so can be used immediately.

Love them for situations where batteries matter. For TV remotes and low power consumption devices you can just use cheaper alternatives.

You can buy cheaper rechargeables (I know, I have) - but nothing beats an Eneloop.
Their advantage/pitch is that they don't loose their charge. Come charged, you put them in a drawer, when you need a battery they're ready to go. Get rid of your Duracells.
I started off just using them for high-drain uses (game console controllers etc) - but not have them in everything from bathroom scales to clocks - and I have spares in my drawer.
Problem with non-eneloops is that if you put them, say in a clock, they lose more power due to their inefficiency than the clock uses itself.
Join me, and you will experience the pleasure of never ever having to buy another battery ever again.
They're not cheap compared to some other lesser batteries, or alkalines you think will be OK for your clock over the next few years - but I cannot understate the feeling of liberation you feel when you've expunged your house of 'disposable' batteries.
Try to imagine yourself in my current position. Share my mantra "I've bought my last battery" - just dive in there, replace the lot, and join me.

I also bought the Apple battery charger which came with 6 x AA rechargeable batteries, shown in the photo. These original batteries, after 6 years of constant use, have now got to the point where a full charge lasts only maybe two days, where as they used to last easily 4 to 6 weeks. I scoured the internet looking for as close a direct replacement as I could find, and these Panasonic Eneloop 1900mAh were a near perfect replacement. I've recharged them in the apple charger and they charged up no problem, and I tested them in the magic trackpad and keyboard. So far I'm 48 hours in and the battery level still shows as 100%, so I fully expect these to be as good as the original Apple rechargeable batteries were.

Obviously they'll be good for other uses, but I just added this in case anyone else is looking for batteries for older Apple input devices like I had.

These are great rechargeable batteries. Ive had many before and they have never lasted as long as these batteries can last, even with usage.

We currently use them on our xbox one controllers and you can play for 3-4 days with normal usage 1-5 hours.

The one con that I did note with these batteries is it takes a very long time to charge them (sometimes over 7-8 hours). I am not using a charger that is made by eneloop so that could be playing a role in the delayed charging.

Ultimately, I plan to buy more and do recommend these.

Ce sont les meilleures piles rechargeables du marché. Voilà, c'est dit.

J'en dispose d'une vingtaine (AA et AAA) pour tous les appareils de la vie courante : clavier, souris, télécommandes, rasoirs, tondeuses... et même dans le flash cobra de mon reflex (mais pour ceux recherchant de meilleures performances encore, visez plutôt les Eneloop Pro qui ont un temps de recyclage beaucoup plus court).

La faible auto-décharge se prête parfaitement aux appareils qui restent une grand partie du temps hors d'usage (type télécommande ou rasoirs). La décharge en utilisation normale est très stable dans le temps et la pile ne perd pas en efficacité au fil des recharges. Ce qui permet une plus longue autonomie sur le long terme (en même temps avec plus de 2000 recharges, on a le temps de voir venir la chose).

Pour vous donner un ordre d'idée, j'ai une souris Logitech G602 depuis juin 2015, je n'ai rechargé que deux fois les piles (et encore, j'étais en mode performance, et non économie... il s'agit pourtant bien d'une souris gaming).

Attention cependant ! Qui dit excellentes piles rechargeables, dit excellent chargeur. Et pour ça je ne saurais vous conseiller les très fameux Nitecore I4 et D4. Il n'y pas plus simple et ils s'avèrent très fiables pour un prix relativement bas.

Bref, ça reste un investissement, mais une fois tous vos appareils électriques portables équipés, d'une part vous serez tranquille pour au moins 4 décennies (oui oui, en faisant le calcul sur la base d'une charge par semaine, 2000 charges, ça représente 37 années !), d'autre part la planète vous remerciera. Et d'ailleurs, moi aussi je vous remercie pour votre lecture.

PS : par rapport au vendeur 7dayshop : très sympas, ils m'ont d'abord envoyé de mauvaises piles, et ont automatiquement renvoyé les bonnes en remarquant l'erreur. J'ai pu garder les mauvaises gratuitement. Comptez environ une semaine pour recevoir le produit (7dayshop, ça porte bien son nom !)
