Panasonic X800 Full HD 1920 x 1080p (50p) 3D Ready Camcorder with 3MOS System Pro bringing Panasonic's Highest-Ever Image Quality
The 3MOS System Pro achieves a dramatic improvement in performance with a totally re-engineered lens, sensor, and engine. This allows the new system to produce Full-HD images with breathtaking color, detail and gradation. 3MOS System Pro is a next-generation imaging system that exhibits outstanding effects even under dim lighting, and produces bright, beautiful images with minimum noise.
HYBRID O.I.S. + uses five-axis correction to thoroughly suppress blurring all the way from wide-angle shots to powerful zoom shots. It also achieves superb effects when shooting while walking. This lets the user capture crisp, clear images, without blurring, in almost every shooting situation. This revolutionary five-axis correction function corrects the kind of roll direction hand-shake that often occurs when shooting while walking, in addition to horizontal, vertical, yawing, and pitching four-axis correction.
F1.5 Leica Dicomar Lens
A special nano surface coating is applied to the bright F1.5 Leica Dicomar Lens. This lens minimizes the distortion and degradation of contrast and resolution that tend to occur at the lens periphery. By forming a nano-level, microstructure film with an ultra-low refractive index onto the lens surface, the reflection of incident light is dramatically reduced and suppresses ghosting and flare. In addition, the 29.8mm wide-angle setting is especially handy for recording indoors or in tight spaces.
Advanced 3MOS Sensor
The Advanced 3MOS Sensor employs a pixel shift technology. The green MOS sensor is shifted vertically and horizontally relative to the blue and red MOS sensors with submicron-level accuracy. This achieves high-speed processing that is approximately equivalent to four times the pixel count of Full-HD pixel. This technology renders ultrafine images with excellent color reproduction and superb detail.
Crystal Engine Pro II Processor
By using the Crystal Engine Pro II to perform high-speed processing of the huge number of pixels - approximately equivalent to four times the pixel count of Full-HD - that are obtained with pixel shift technology, superb Full-HD image quality is achieved even in detailed image parts. The improved processing capability also dramatically reduces noise by 40%* compared with previous models, to record clear, stunningly beautiful images even in dim lighting. * Compared to HDC-HS900/TM900/SD900/SD800.
2D to 3D Image Conversion
Images that were shot in 2D without using the 3D Conversion Lens can be easily transformed into 3D images with the 2D to 3D Conversion function. Simply connect the camcorder to a 3D-compatible TV with an HDMI cable. The 2D to 3D Conversion function then uses the image processing capability of the engine to convert 2D images into 3D. This is an easy, casual way to enjoy the excitement of 3D.
Easy Connecting for 3D Video Playback and Archiving
With Panasonic VIERA 3D TV,* you can easily watch FULL HD 3D images using the Frame Sequential Method by simply inserting an SD Memory Card** into the SD card slot or connecting the camcorder with an HDMI mini Cable.** Playback is also possible with a Panasonic 3D-compatible Blu-ray Disc player or recorder.*** The recorder can be used to save high-quality 3D images as well.

Recorded MVC (Multiview Video Coding) format 3D data can be saved onto a Blu-ray Disc by simply connecting the X900M to an AVCHD-compatible recorder with a USB cable and pressing a button.
* A TV that is capable of side-by-side method 3D playback, 3D Eyewear, and HDMI cable connection are required to play the recorded 3D images. Some VIERA 3D TV models allow direct 3D-image playback from an SD card.
** Applicable models: VIERA playback is possible on Spring 2012 or newer models. DIGA playback and recording are also possible on Spring 2012 or newer models. Playback on other-brand equipment produces side-by-side method 3D images.
*** If the player/recorder is not 3D-compatible, you need to set the 3D mode on the TV manually.
**** To play the content with a recorder, the data must be copied to an HDD.
Some VIERA 3D TV models may require a firmware update to play 3D images from an SD card.

Top customer reviews
The quality of the video is outstanding. The photo quality is 7 out of 10 which doesn't matter because I bought it to make films. The photo quality is good enough for most applications. The HC-X800 also lets you take photos while filming. This is a really useful feature. A great camcorder and easy to use.
quick few points about this camera.
I personally went for this one over the x900 as if you really think about it how often will you connect external mics or use the manual focus ring? I just want to grab the camera and shoot in auto mode so i am so glad i didnt spend the extra money on the x900.
I have an under powered PC for editing but this camera is excellent.
1. you can plug the x800 up to the pc and select which scenes you want to use and then burn them to a dvd or avchd dvd. Then it uses the power of the x800 to burn a full dvd in about an hour.
2. you can also do some basic highlight videos on the x800 itself.
3. the video editing software that comes with the camera is very easy to use and simple but i have not used it that much as my computer is under powered.
Stabilisation is amazing on this camera, low light perforance is a little noisy but still very good. The only thing i would think about moving up to the x900 for is for the hotshoe where i could attach a torch to for low light videoing.
ive found size and weight much better for me as i didnt need viewfinder and all extra bits of x900 which is now to be replaced by x920 with wifi.
the video and photos are excellent as x900.I really am happy with this model now.
by x900 for more creative work and a viewfinder and remote but me i dont miss them.
