The Clear Sound Digital Amplifier analyses the difference between the input and output audio signals, and makes the necessary adjustments to produce an output signal with the same low distortion as the input signal. This results in sound that is highly faithful to the original sound source.
You can access content from the special VIERA CAST screen. And you can check weather and stock information on other sites.
The 2D-3D Conversion makes it possible to convert images from DVDs and Blu-ray discs into 3D with natural depth perception. So you can watch your prized DVD movie collection in 3D for even greater viewing enjoyment.
The home cinema system is a great way to enjoy the music, video and photo content on your iPod or iPhone. The list of iPod/iPhone content can be displayed on the TV screen, and you can use the remote control from the home cinema system or a VIERA TV to select and play it. *To enjoy video/photo content on iPod/iPhone, please connect your home cinema system with composite video cable to your TV. The list is only for music and video. Photo playback is not supported by the VIERA remote control, to playback photos please use the iPod directly.
VIERA Link lets you operate SC-BTT262 with a single VIERA TV remote control. With VIERA Link, there's no more need to switch between multiple remote controls. Further, ARC (Audio Return Channel) feature makes it possible to receive audio signals from the TV, on top of the preexisting HDMI function of sending audio/video signals to the TV with just one cable. This simplifies connection by eliminating the audio cable connection between the TV audio output and the main unit's audio input. * ARC compatible TV is required.

The system looks fairly unassuming but I am pleasantly surprised by the amount of power in the output, with plenty of weight to the sound. I have had to tweak the default settings to get the sound to my liking but this is fairly straightforward to do through the set up menus.
I would have given this system 5 stars but there are some annoying irritations, firstly there is only one HDMI output and this will only serve ARC functionality. Secondly when a device other than the TV is activated, say a set top box, the unit doesn't automatically switch the sound output - it has to be manually done on the remote control, and visa versa when going back to just the TV. Thirdly, and my biggest annoyance, every time the unit is powered up it automatically defaults to the home screen on the surround sound system and you have to use the TV remote to manually switch the output channel to the TV - very, very irritating.
Just one final thing, the amp unit is very skinny, I personally would prefer it to have a bit more bulk to give it more presence - but this may not bother most people, particularly if you are tight on head room on your allotted space.
So, not perfect, but I can forgive it's shortcomings given the price and pleasing sound performance.
Here are the pros, and just a few cons.....
Very good value for money.
iPhone docking facility (I Hardly bother with my Hi-fi anymore)
Sound quality (Clear voice and nice punchy bass)
When you turn on the TV, the home theatre comes to life as well.
Audio sink issue with HD channels (can be adjusted, but is an annoyance)
Unlike DVD players, I cannot for the life of me find a button that takes you directly to the disk menu. Instead you have to scan through all of the adverts.
The Panasonic sound system works well when playing DVDs and Blu-Ray discs.
I am using it with a Philips 42 HD TV and a Sky HD+ set-top box. The TV doesn't have an optic fibre connection so I am using one HDMI cable from the Panasonic Blu-Ray box to the TV and a second HDMI cable from the Sky box to the TV. This arrangement necessitates using an audio-in connection to the Blu-Ray box to ensure sound via the Panasonic sound system. Panasonic's recommendation to achieve this is either use a stereo phono lead between the TV's audio-out and the Blu-Ray box or an optic fibre cable between the Sky box and the Blu-Ray box. I have tried both options and both work with non-HD Sky channels - but as soon as you change to an HD channel the sound dies. Strange but true ! Have tried connecting to a different Sky box and with a different TV. Same problem. I guess they want you to buy a Panasonic TV for full compatibility! All very irritating.
