Product Description

Product Description

Lightweight and easily maneuverable, the UL7 series of Eco Max Light Vacuum Cleaners from Panasonic make cleaning easy! A tighter turn allows you to clean every corner and the flat reclining body makes it convenient for you to vacuum under furniture and beds helping you to reach dust quickly. With much lesser muscle stress during usage, it makes cleaning easier than ever. The newly designed Freestyle Nozzle on the MC-UL712 is a multi-point flexible moving system with incredible maneuverability which is achieved through the combination of different movements in the nozzle and wheel parts. The rear wheels run free from the nozzle wheels allowing tighter steering around corners for quicker and easier cleaning. The Freestyle Nozzle and flat reclining body combined allow you to remove dust with minimal effort. This compact and light-weight vacuum cleaner is 34% lighter than the conventional model so cleaning the home is a breeze. The unique shape generates high pressure and by using an aerodynamic system, dust is compressed at the bottom of the cylinder. This makes the filter cleaner, dust container easier to empty and keeps your hands clean whilst still maintaining high power. The crevice tool is ready with one simple action and the quick draw tool can access narrow spaces around furniture, underneath sofas and even in high places which would be out of reach with usual nozzles. Now you can enjoy an entirely dust free house.

Box Contains

1 x Panasonic MC-UL712 Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner
Standard Accessories: Crevice nozzle / Dusting brush / Upholstery nozzle / Quick Draw Nozzle

Have awarded this little beauty 5 stars as it is the best vac I've owned (this includes 3 Dyson uprights that in my opinion never lived up to the hype). It is light to use which with my arthritis is a big plus and its easy to carry up and down stairs.

The slight downsides initially are - it needs emptying more often than larger model vacs but is so easy to do is really not a issue. The hose is short, it does tip over easily and until you get used to using it the lead can get in the way. However you soon learn how to manouvre the vac to avoid these things being a problem!

The suction is brilliant and with various floor covering types, slate floor, plush carpet, flat carpet and lino, this little dynamo picks up on all without having to adjust for different levels.

I would be happy to recommend this to anyone it is so quick and easy to use!

As I have only owned this for three weeks I obviously cannot testify to the longevity of it but if any problems occur will update this review accordingly.

I have to update this review because the beater bar has split and although vac is usable it's not so good picking up on carpet. I can only find one outlet with a replacement beater bar (and that is not Panasonic) cost £44 + postage! Only had 12 months so am disappointed and probably will not bother as other reviews suggest this may be a common problem and likely to happen again! I must add that have not contacted Panasonic myself but again reading other reviews decided tis not worth the effort.

Initially, we thought this was a great vacuum cleaner, light and manoeuvrable and with great suction. We were amazed how much dust this lightweight unit managed to pick up. However the small capacity dust bin means that you have to empty it repeatedly and actually may exaggerate the amount of dust that is being collected (the capacity is probably less than 1/4 of that of a standard size Dyson upright).

The extension hose doesn't reach to the top of the stairs and even if it did, the unit is so unstable that the main body of the cleaner falls over whilst you're using the extension (we have a chunk taken out of our bedroom wall that attests to this, where the vacuum fell over and scraped the wall). The only way to prevent the base from falling over is by holding it with one hand whilst you use the extension with the other hand, not a very practical arrangement I'm sure you'll agree.

Next, the power cable is located in a wholly impractical postion and becomes a real pain.

The bottom section of the cleaner (the section with the brush) has a tendency to drop down when you're carrying the vacuum up and down stairs.

The tiny dust bin is a real pain to empty and needs to be (literally) taken apart to get all of the dust & hair out of it. This means that you and the surrounding area get covered in dust whilst doing it, so rather than tipping it out into the kitchen bin, you'd be best advised to empty it into an outdoor bin. Quite why Panasonic thought that it is reasonable to expect their customers to disassemble the whole cyclone part of the cleaner, in order to completely empty the bin, is completely beyond me.

The only upsides of great manoeuvrability, suction & light weight do so very little to make up for the bad aspects of this cleaner. We're going to send it back for a refund.

We have had this vacuum cleaner for just over a year, to replace a Sebo K1 that did not pick up at all well. It is probably the best and the worst product we have ever bought.
For use on carpets and floors it is brilliant. The motorised turbo brush cleans right into the pile which is also brushed up so you can feel it. Excellent. Now for the bad bits:
1. Customer Services is rubbish and quite unhelpful.
2. Beater brush broke after 2 months - I was told by customer services to contact my local service agent to get a replacement under warranty. Could they not send me one I asked - "yes we can but will have to charge you" was the reply.
3. Motor belched out heavy black smoke when 13 months old - repaired under warranty by my local (20miles) approved repair agent. Customer services could not tell me if they had the part in stock unless I got the part number from the service agent for them. Still smells and casing gets hot so it will have to go back again.
4. Bagless dust container too small and fills up each time and is messy to empty and clean as it gets clogged.
5. Machine tips over easily when using the hose and attachments.
6. Impossible to clean the stairs - no suitable tool provided - we have to use our old cleaner for this!!
7. Filter needs washing more often than monthly as suggested in manual as it affects the vacuum.
8. Attachment tools are of poor quality and vacuum to them is very weak.
