I was looking for a waterproof camera to take pictures of waves/surf. I spend a lot of time in the water and was always wanting a nice big picture of a curl to hang on the wall. I am no real photographer however i take loads of goofy shots and whenever i see a print on canvas that i like, i'd rather go out and shoot the pic for myself so when i hang it on the wall i can have more of a connection with it.
I had looked round a lot of the cameras in this price bracket including Cannon and Fuji, however i was advised by a photographer friend that the Panasonic had the best results. After playing with a few different cameras i decided to take the plunge and buy the Panasonic and i haven't looked back since. It's a great camera, it's tough as heck and takes gorgeous wide angle shots. It even survived a weeks snowboarding and took in the sky blue/neon jacket/stark white images brilliantly. Thoroughly recommended.
