I've always been fascinated with names and their meanings so over the years I've collected about 20+ baby names books. This one has fewer names (7,300) but it has more meanings and origin information than others. It also has less stupid concepts than other books I've come across ie right gender for a name. I understand that some names are unisex, Leslie, Sam, etc but other books I've come across give Brandon as a girl's name! It has names from different cultures (index of sources, it has a concept index (all names that mean hope), and a variation and combination index. It's not the absolute best available but for the little book it is, it's a whole lot more use that others!
